Cake is commercial. Coffee was stale. Good designs tho but will definitely come back because of the convenience not the coffee.
EDIT: I feel like I made a very lazy review that is ultimately unhelpful, but I'll try my best not to be that guy. Since the owner replied, here is an updated, hopefully much more detailed review.
Cake is commercial. The fact that the cake was baked by your mother makes it, in my opinion, worse. Because you can't really fire your mother, or give her feedback about her cake without affecting your relationship. You might want to consider getting another supplier for your cake, because improvement for a young cafe is crucial. To be clear: the cake is okay, it's not bad. Some commercial cakes are not bad. Honestly, I thought you bought your cakes from SNR, which offers the same level of taste and consistency. But there is room for improvement, and there are so many suppliers for cakes that are better. But I guess doing something with your mom is also good, but there's that catch you have to embrace. I suppose what you can do is advertise the cake to be baked by your mother, so that it becomes more alluring and people are more likely to be forgiving.
"Coffee was stale." I think stale was the incorrect word. I would say that the coffee was under-extracted. Not enough of the espesso flavor made it into the cup because of either two things: 1) the mug you used makes it very hard to measure and see where your milk levels should be. Honeslty the milk wasn't bad, it's just that the froth was too a half-inch too thick. So I would probably even consider using smaller mugs that make it easier for your barrista to see measurements, rather than stick with aesthetic mugs that ruin the coffee. 2) The machine you use is not commercial grade, which may be a problem in performing especially with high-volume orders. Unforunately I was not able to see what your machine was, so I'm not entirely sure about this, but it certainly feels and tastes that way. I would highly recommend auditing your coffee with a professional barrista so they can give you that consistency in every mug.
Now I hope this review is helpful. I will definitely come back to see if there are any...
Read moreHi, its just me. Not a foodie just a blue-collar expat. So we were in the area for a license and looked for some place to eat. We didn't want the mall so we went here practically across the street from SM Eccoland. We went in and its fairly open you order first then sit down. The menu just had the item and price no description. I went with the chicken wrap with a strawberry shake and she went with the chicken Ala king. We sat down and the table needed a wipe down. Its a pretty casual setting there were a few people there a guy playing a game on his computer and a guy doing something else on the computer. The food came and I didnt expect much but you cant mess up a chicken wrap. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised the vegetables in the wrap were very crisp and fresh the strawberry shake was good and here meal was also good but she was so/so on the avocado shake. Overall it was pretty good and the prices were fair. Not...
Read moreMy coworker suggested we have lunch at this cafe, and I was a bit skeptical since I didn’t even know they served meals. When we got there, the place was clean and the staff were nice, so that was a good start.
The thing that stood out the most was how pricey the meals were, especially given how small the serving portions. The Beef Strips was ₱360, it was just okay for that price, nothing special. The kamote chips were bland too, and it was only served after we followed up. Since there were no barriers in the kitchen, we even saw them start cooking it only after we asked.
Also, I’m not sure if they have proper exhaust, or maybe it’s just because the kitchen is open, but if you stay there long enough, the smoke or smell from the cooking will probably stick to...
