KFC — Restaurant in Davao City

I frequented this branch pre-pandemic years for it’s the only one with a drive-through facility. Two-stories high but UNDERSTAFFED. And mind you that’s any time of the day or year. So, I was back to see if there were changes. Ordering machines similar to McDonald’s was a new one. No one to assist as the POS machine was acting up. A group of teenagers were converging in front of one machine while I was still figuring out how to pay on the other. Finally, the supervisor approached me hoping she will assist but instead urged me to pay at the counter. This branch was rarely busy but the time to clear up the tables from one customer to the next in the dining area was always SLOW to NO SHOW… Even the utensils/gravy station I observed needs to be regularly monitored for refill. I can deduce from this visit that still it HASN’T IMPROVED. What’s a mainstay annoyance are the beggars outside the store pestering incoming customers and those at the drive-through area. What the staff are not aware of is that those beggars are also enjoying the gravy station which is NOT A GOOD SIGHT for dining customers. What can I say, this store is the example of FILTHY. They ignored us on the intercom. We just sat there waiting, almost raising our voices just so someone could hear us. After a few minutes we went straight to the cashier window to order where we waited another few minutes to be entertained. The staffs were busy chitchatting and purposely ignored us despite our attempts to call their attention. When the cashier came to get our order we asked her why weren't anyone there to entertain us. She just rudely said she didn't hear us and didn't even apologize. We noticed she wasn't wearing any headphones. After taking our orders we waited again for another few more minutes. It took too long for them to prepare our orders. They were talking and laughing with each other while being rude to the customers. We got our orders and the cashier wasn't even apologetic, there were no honorifics and not even a "Thank you". Overall, customer service was the worst among all Fast Food drive thrus in the City for me. Hope the management can do...

Kentucky Fried Chicken { KFC } is of course a world wide franchise so I guess one outlet will be much the same as another but what sets this branch apart is that it is the only KFC in Davao City with a drive through.

The day I visited was Independence day in The Philippines and the staff had entered into the spirit of things, please see my photo of the young lady staff member in the long dress. However this lady in particular was particularly attentive, nothing was too much trouble for her during my visit. Full marks for customer service in this branch, noticeably better than the other fast food outlets which are just down the road.

The food was to KFC standards so no problem there.

The downside? : Well this branch is a bit out of the way located where it is so I wonder how many people will make the effort to visit, but hey if you like chicken you could...
