PANCAKE HOUSE — Restaurant in Davao City

I used to go to Pancake House regularly and considered it one of the better restaurants. However, this recent visit after several years was disappointing. The servers, in particular, were not very welcoming, and it felt like they weren’t happy with their jobs—or at least, that’s how we perceived it. Even my kids, who usually don’t notice such things, commented on it.

Another letdown was that they only accepted cash payments. We typically use GCash, which wasn’t available. In this day and age, I hope this was just a one-time issue. Otherwise, the owners should reconsider this policy.

The jumbo banana split was also disappointing. I expected a large banana, but it was mostly ice cream, and the banana wasn’t even whole—just some slices thrown in. I couldn’t finish it because even the ice cream was mediocre. The spaghetti wasn’t good either. Overall,...

There is more than one Pancake House in Davao and this one is both spacious and in a good location, the furnishings and decor are excellent and high level of hygiene and food presentation on display.

The pancakes are of course their trademark dish and another outstanding feature is their all day breakfast. I have always found the staff to be attentive.
