Staycation with my daughter at Acacia Hotel (ps nagubot na ang room)

I just wanna share my recent experience with this 5 star hotel in Lanang Davao City: Acacia Hotel Let’s rate my experience by category: Rooms, Rate, Staff, Breakfast, Service, Facilities and Overall I stayed there for several times in a week. Maybe almost 15-17days in a month, if not mistaken during my vacation in Davao City. Rating: 5 is the highest and 1 is lowest. Rooms: 5 🤩 Upon checked in, i got my room ready and my room was located in 10th floor. To my surprised, I am mesmerised how big rooms in Acacia. I got a room with receiving area and 1 Big King size bed. Rooms can fit maybe around 10-15people with your planning for a wedding and use the rooms are prep room. Very Clean and tidy, cant complain and cant ask for more. Toilet is very well maintained and a complete toiletries was set up inside my room. The interior of the rooms is good and very spacious. I got a view facing the mountain or road side and SM lanang view too. With television and AC and I recommend this type of room for family since they have pull out beds too inside guest room. Rate: 5 🤩 Rooms: What you pay is what you get! You pay high then you get very good accommodation. Not cheap hotel but its worth it to stay and spend your money. I booked directly in the hotel and didnt go thru TA (Travel Agencies) since booking in TA might looks cheaper but my advise: Call the hotel first for best deals and they will work out the best deals for you. Rate for Chines Resto: 5 🤩 One of the best Chinese resto I’ve been… the All you can eat in the 3rd floor is awesome and all worth it. You have to order in the menu and freshly cooked foods will be serve in your table. Its not cheap but I’m willing to spend money with this restaurant because its all worth it. Prior booking is essential as this restaurant got packed easily. I invited my friends here and you can also order ala carte instead of all you can eat. Maybe my recommendation with the all you can eat, to control then portion of orders. Maybe they can consider to served portions by request like for 1 person only or for 2 since not everyone wants to eat same dishes and it may lessen the food wastage too. or maybe if you wanna try some dishes in a portion for 1 only or 2person. We tried to order only for 2 person only but they told us its always for 4 which we didnt order anymore since we cant finished all dishes. Staffs: 5 🤩 I would like to extend my many thanks to Mr Arvin Ian Itao for a very smooth arrangement of my bookings. no hassle at all and to the receptionist always ready to assist me regarding some request. Also to Ms Lali and Ms Jessa… the concierge team too so helpful. Breakfast: 4 🤩 Breakfast is okay… food was good but not excellent. The kakanin hopefully not too cold when served in the buffet so its easy to eat. More options of meat like bacon. Service: 5 🤩 Exemplary! From my Checked in to Checked out. Amazing team! Maybe they can checked the telephone lines from the rooms. We were calling the Telephone operator several times during my stay but they i haven’t experience that someone picked up the phone and I have to call the attention of FD upon going out in the hotel or message Mr Itao. Overall: 5 🤩🤩🤩 Looking forward in my next visit and another awesome experience with Acacia Hotel Davao!

Embarking on this review for Acacia Hotel, my sentiments swing between delight and disappointment after a 14-day stay that waltzed through festive moments but stumbled over some regrettable missteps. Let's start on a positive note with the pros: - The room, a twin deluxe, unfolded a spacious haven adorned with two generously-sized queen beds – a testament to thoughtful design. - A heartening surprise awaited as the hotel graciously allowed my family of four to bask in the comfort of our chosen room, surpassing the standard accommodation for two. - Nestled conveniently close to the city center and within a stone's throw from a bustling mall, the hotel's location paints an enticing picture. Now, onto the less enchanting aspects, the cons: - While my 14-day escapade cost me 1,700 SGD – a pocket-friendly option for Singaporean globetrotters but perhaps a tad steep for our friends from the Philippines – the price tag nudges expectations towards the realms of 4-5 star luxury, a yardstick the stay doesn't entirely meet. - The breakfast buffet, despite its price, failed to tantalize my taste buds. Limited selections coupled with overcooked or subpar preparations cast a pall over the dining experience. - The linens provided, marred with stains, and aging bath towels whispered tales of neglect. Only on the fifth day did a refreshing change bring newer towels, shedding light on prior oversights. - Service, alas, hovered in the realm of mediocrity. The lackluster demeanor of the staff, bereft of genuine smiles or passion for their roles, tainted the overall experience. A notable instance saw a simple request – leaving my key card at the front desk for my brother – morph into an arduous ordeal, met with forgetfulness and argumentative exchanges. In the grand tapestry of my stay, the threads of satisfaction and discontent weave together to create a narrative that leans towards the positive but falls short of greatness. Acacia Hotel, while providing a satisfactory backdrop for my 14-day sojourn, stands amidst a diverse array of options in Davao City, beckoning travelers to explore alternatives that may offer a more seamless blend of comfort and service excellence.

First impression was: Oh, still philippino crafter quality. Because this Hotel is very new, i expected something more.

Room: Very good. Ice-cold Aircon, if you like, but good adjustable. Own Ref. Very good Hot&cold shower, everything is clean, a small (really small!) window to open for warm/fresh air from outside. 2 big Bed (you can also reserve double bed). Room is spacious, so good feeling.

Pool: In the noon time in the sun, but later with shadow. Very nice temperatur! Maybe they cool the pool water down? Not to warm and not to cold. No Pool shower, you need to go to the CR. Very slippery tiles! Not Mirror-glide, but more slippery than i expect for pool tiles. You have Sun-lais! A lot of pools in the philippines only have chairs, you will love it. They also have a pool par, but it looks like out of operation. Maybe later in the evening?

Breakfast: Very great filipino buffet with (i think) everythink, Philippinos like and expect for breakfast. My Wife was more than satisfied. For Expats, there are not so much options. I think it is ok for 1 or two times, then you will look for something else to start your day. That lead me to...

Location: Perfect! You have Taxis, Jeepneys, SM Lanang direct at your Hotel, you are in some minutes in Downtown with the best bars & restaurant. Main Road means a lot of traffic, but the windows are high quality, so you don't have street noise in your room.

Venue: Hmmm... They have a lot to learn here. First: Our Room was very much too small for the Attendants. Tables are very close each other. Mirror on the stage and other details could be more clean or shiny. Even the Hotel is only 2 Years operational, you can already see the "filippino style" on a lot of details. Sad. Worst was the service. We had "business style" snack on noon and afternoon. The Hotel needs 50minutes plus for everyone to serve the snack, and 1 hour+ to remove the plates later on. Both snacks. Lunch need 45 Minutes until the last attendant got his meal, also this plates stay partially more than 1 hour until removed. The Lunch was ok. I expected more, because the Acacia has a very good reputation. But it was also solid, not bad.

Parking: You have a nice parking lot bellow the hotel, keeps your car or motorbike nice cool. And 2 more lots behind the hotel, with the powerful davao sun.

Price: Compared to other countries, the price is high and does not fit to the hotel. But compared to the Philippines & Davao, the Price is affordable. Philippines have in general mostly overpriced hotels, so the arcadia is only adjusting to the...

I think the biggest asset of Acacia Hotel is its people. Service was great!! Special commendation goes to Sir Rhenz at the Club lounge on the 10th floor. He provided extra attentive service, anticipated our needs and even lent me his personal mobile phone charger to use overnight when the hotel had no extra charger to lend me ( I had accidentally left my charger at home).||Food at the Club lounge was also good for both the afternoon tea (included fresh tuna sashimi, sushi, mini sandwiches and cakes, fresh fruits and fresh watermelon shake) and the breakfast (freshly cooked eggs, assorted Filipino breakfast dishes, breads, cakes etc)||Room and toilet size were adequate and comfortable. The bed was also comfortable and conducive to a good night's rest.||I would have given Acacia a 5 * rating if not for the following:||1. The single toilet paper roll provided was so thin that we had to request for 2 more rolls for it to be enough for an overnight stay for 2 people - this gives the impression that Acacia is a budget hotel even if the room rate says otherwise and more so, considering that the room we booked is on the Club floor.||2. The complimentary slippers were also literally paper-thin.||3. The bathroom had no floor mat and only one piece of face towel for 2 guests. There were 2 bath towels, conditioning shampoo, body wash (no lotion), basic toiletries||4. After we had checked out, the Front desk informed us to wait 5 mins for the mini bar check. Then the front desk staff informed us that our room ref was missing 2 cans of beer and another beverage. To begin with, the room ref had no beer cans at all when we checked in. We also never get from the mini bar in the room. Moreover, we are on the Club floor and it thus made no sense for us to take from the mini bar when we can get complimentary food and beverage from the Club lounge.||Though the staff apologized for this, it still left a bad impression of the hotel.||I realized that most of our complaints have to do with Housekeeping service or the quality of the items provided in the room. ||5. Our room number 2014 was located right next to the Club lounge and the Club floor reception area. Though it is convenient to accessing the lounge, the sound insulation is also not enough that we can hear the staff conversing/greeting guests while we are in the...
