Papa G just earned a loyal customer! 🙋🏻♀️
My first Papa G experience was back in Tagum; it was wonderful. I even left a positive review for that particular branch.
Papa G in Illustre was on another level. It looked small from the outside, so it was surprising to see that the place was actually spacious. The architectural design of the building was beautiful and well-thought. The embellishments and choice of furniture was worthy of recognition too. The table and chairs were sturdy. The place was well-illuminated. AND THE BEST PART: the comfort room was clean and hygienic. It was spacious and had good ventilation. Naay bidet!!
This time, we tried other food from the menu. Xiao Long Bao was good. The meat was umami-good. The size was perfect; a single xiao long bao was mouthful. My bundle of joy was served together with rice vinegar sauce with thin slices of ginger. For me, xiao long bao will always be the champion among all dimsum. 🤤✊🏻
We also had Hakao or “Har Gau”. Its appearance distinguished them from other dimsum. They looked soft and delicate, but unlike xiao long bao, they don’t break apart. It was chewy to eat. The shrimp/prawn inside was tasty and well-cooked.
Again, we ordered our favorite Japanese siomai. Minsan na lang nga mag-Papa G, might as well take the chance. :
It was not only about the food. The customer service was noteworthy too. We were served with cold water and their specialty nuts while we waited for our order. The staff was courteous when she took our order and when she served the food on our table. She was attentive and quick to respond.
I love Papa G! I’m adding it to my top favorite Chinese-Dimsum restaurants 🫶🏻
P.S. Aside from dimsum, Papa G also serves Chinese cuisines. Their menu has interesting options. A little pricy (around ₱300+ and above)...
Read moreThe dining experience was insanely good, almost as good as the food. The atmosphere is nice with a very good metal artwork greeting you by the door. It's well lit and welcoming even into the night.
HIGHLY recommend the truffle dumpling if you like the taste of truffle. It's like eating truffle pasta without the carbs. The crab roe dumpling too. Absolutely insane quality. If it's your first time visiting, try the dumpling sampler and order the crab roe on the side (it's a new menu item and is not yet included in it) to get two of each of their dumpling flavors.
The rice meal serving size was very good, with enough rice to balance out the flavorful food and at a fair price for the quantity and quality. The salted egg chicken as either a side or a rice topping is so worth it and really tastes like salted egg. As a black vinegar truther i love that they serve it as a side at the start of every meal, and separately they also give you their own chili oil.
Highly recommend, would and have...
Read moreI have wanted to eat here for quite some time now and it was by chance that I was finally able to! Was originally planning to eat somewhere else but luckily, I saw Papa G Dimsum House while walking.
I ordered a quick breakfast - mantou with bilbao omelet and honey lemon iced tea. It’s my first time having mantou and it’s a splendid breakfast alternative for rice. I really enjoyed the food.
The place was clean and aesthetically pleasing. Second floor has tables for bigger groups/families plus one area that is exclusive. Staff was courteous and helpful.
Will come back again so I can order other dishes. They have...
