Ted’s Oldtimer La Paz Batchoy in Iloilo is a beloved institution that has been serving up steaming bowls of comforting goodness for decades. Here's my review of this iconic eatery:
Authenticity: When it comes to La Paz Batchoy, Ted’s Oldtimer is the real deal. The rich, savory broth, the tender slices of pork, the flavorful garlic bits, and the perfectly cooked noodles all come together to create a bowl of Batchoy that is as authentic as it gets. It's a taste of Iloilo's culinary heritage in every spoonful.
Consistency: One of the hallmarks of Ted’s Oldtimer is its consistency. Whether you're a first-time visitor or a longtime patron, you can always count on Ted’s to deliver the same high-quality Batchoy that has made it a local favorite for generations. The flavors remain true to tradition, ensuring a satisfying dining experience every time.
Generous Portions: At Ted’s Oldtimer, you won't leave hungry. The portions are generous, with heaping bowls of Batchoy that are guaranteed to warm you up and fill you up. It's comfort food at its finest, perfect for a quick and hearty meal any time of day.
Affordability: Despite its popularity and reputation, Ted’s Oldtimer remains surprisingly affordable. You can enjoy a hearty bowl of Batchoy without breaking the bank, making it accessible to locals and visitors alike.
Nostalgic Atmosphere: Stepping into Ted’s Oldtimer is like taking a trip back in time. The no-frills decor and bustling atmosphere evoke a sense of nostalgia, harkening back to a simpler time when Batchoy was enjoyed by Ilonggos from all walks of life.
Friendly Service: Last but not least, the service at Ted’s Oldtimer is warm and friendly. The staff are attentive and welcoming, adding to the overall dining experience and making you feel right at home.
Overall, Ted’s Oldtimer La Paz Batchoy is a must-visit destination for anyone craving a taste of authentic Ilonggo cuisine. With its rich flavors, generous portions, and nostalgic charm, it's no wonder Ted’s has stood the test of time as a beloved culinary...
Read moreI ordered food for self-pick-up in Grab app. The employees there are not trained in the difference between delivery and self-pickup. I waited for almost 1 hour for them to figure it out. They didn't give me the food because they thought I had to pay for it in cash even I selected Grabpay. When I showed them the receipt they still wonder why the deduction from my phone is lower than what they received. I told them I had a voucher that Is why. They also don't know how to generate a QR code or how to receive payment manually for Grab Pay to grabpay/wallet for the items they sell that are not listed in the app. The Lady woke up his Co-worker who was sleeping under the counter and I tried to help to do it on their machine but they refused and crossed his arms as he looked upset because he woke from a good sleep while working and told me they were not touching the POS machine as what they only do usually is print the receipt from the pos machine when there is a delivery order. The work etiquette is very unprofessional and everyone there are so incompetent! I received the food cold and we ended up eating the food in the store since we were so hungry already and they served the soup not even half of the bowl. This Is such a waste of time and will never order and don't recommend...
Read moreA hot noodle soup made witb pork bits, pork crackling crushed, spring onions, broths and round noodles. Served hot. Famous is the Ted's Lapaz Batchoy in the district of Lapaz in the City of Iloilo, Philippines. Craving for this after many years of not been in the City. Landed at the airport on a late flight, decided to look for one as malls are closed. Found this 24-hour place along Diversion road in Mandurriao. Has allocated parking bays for number of cars. Has toilet facilities, air conditioned and well maintained. Staff accommodating. Prices affordable. I recommend the Extra Super accompanied with a puto (a steamed rice cake) for best experience. You can even ask for more soup if you need to and they will serve it for free. A must try if you visit Iloilo City in one of your bucket list. Very highly...
