From the elevator, the maître d' was impressive. Very welcoming. Went the extra mile in helping me out with my Marriott app. Then I meet a guy Ruel who looked like he had difficulty speaking in English. He offered me sparking / still water and excitedly says “if you need anything; let me know”. You would think it was a good start but alas, everything spiralled downwards from there. It was disappointing bec I travelled so far just to get a reservation to this resto. I asked for help in cooking my iberico and my woo Sam gyeop and again, he says “sure, I’ll help you” BUT he made an intern NOT an employee of the restaurant cook my iberico. She told me it was her first time to cook iberico and she cut them into baby sized pieces along with massacring my onions and bell pepper. She cut them into mini bits as if she was about to saute a dish :( The supervisor was quick to act when I gave her feedback about it. She immediately went to the kitchen and replaced the iberico and had the chef cook my woo sam gyeop. After putting it on top of my table, the staff who seemed so caring about the dine in guests disappeared. Nobody bothered to check on me if I needed more ban chan. If I wanted to order more. Only the guys in red preparing the sashimi would check on my table using their body language from time to time. One of them was even kind enough to give me a bit of the perilla leaves I asked for. Ruel the server came back after 20-30 mins to ask if I wanted to order anything else and I told him I thought he was no longer interested in catering to me. I guess the servers steer clear of dine in guests who give feedback on how to handle / cook Korean ingredients. Such a big waste of money. Was really looking forward to...
Read moreVery, very overrated. Snobbish attitude from the waitresses, and even though the restaurant was almost totally empty, they would not let us sit near the window with the view unless we ordered their extremely overpriced steaks. Not accommodating at all and we didn't feel welcome.
The hotpot we have was OK but nothing special especially for the price. They are also very stingy with their banchan and only allowed for 3 INDIVIDUAL DISH refills (so if you have 6 dishes of banchan, they would only allow you to refill 3 dishes ONCE). For the price they charge for their dishes, it should be 3 FULL DISH refills. In addition, no one came to check about our drink or banchan refills, and we had to flag people down.
We usually go to Modern Shang in SM Clark on the weekends and their hotpot is way better (super fresh seafood) and much cheaper with actual attentive, friendly, and non-snobbish service....
Read moreEasy to reserve. Adequate parking space. Efficient staff. Server who served us was very knowledgeable about the items on the menu and helped us order. Very good food, worth the price and calories. Best restaurant in Clark Marriott. Complimentary salad was fresh and tasty. Dressing was unique and tastes like sweet creamed corn. Unlimited quality side dishes. Squid and pork belly bulgogi with cheese is a must try. I think I'll order it every time I'm at this restaurant. We requested it to be mild spicy. Bulgogi soup was delicious and was enough for the 6 of us. La grilled beef with grilled vegetables and japchae were also tasty. Sushi rolls and bibimbap were ok. It is located in the 17th floor and has a great view. They have indoor and alfresco dining. Credit cards accepted and handicap friendly. Added bonus was the 30% off with Citi. Marriott Bonvoy members also earn points. Very highly...
