MORE ARTIFACTS, FEWER PERSONALITIES, PLEASE.
I personally love museums and visit as many as I can whether here or overseas. I was happy to see that Clark has its own museum. What it has is best described as "a good start". I am sure that with a little more effort, the artifacts and other items on display would improve. We nevertheless enjoyed the current (October 2024) exhibit of miniature art. The sections about Pampanga are also interesting (Exhibits 1 and 2 at the ground floor). I am sure that Exhibit 3 could be more engaging with more photographs and items from the Clark Airbase period to the transition to the new Clark Freeport.
What I found least interesting, and you can skip this part altogether, is the section on the personalities leading Clark Development Corporation (Exhibit 4). I do not know if the curator of the museum had run out of things to display, but this section, which features the personalities who were the past and present leaders of the CDC was unnecessary. Or are the platitudes to the bosses necessary and uniquely Filipino? To my mind, more material about the old Airbase and the future of Clark could fill up to the space better.
In any case, visiting the museum is worth the PHP 100 entrance fee. If you don't learn anything new then at least you can get a respite from the heat (air-conditioning is good and there are a few couches in...
Read moreA good place to quickly get educated about the history of the Clark area, the Air Base, and the culture of its people.
To enter, you have to pay 100 pesos each for the museum and another 100 pesos for the 4D Theatre. There's little to no queue to buy entrance tickets.
The place has four galleries that educate visitors about the geography around Clark, the culture of the people including the Indigenous population and the Kapampangan people, and the history of Clark Airbase and its development to the present day.
Various artifacts, photographs, and models are at show bringing viewers a better understanding of the facts being explained in the images on the walls. Be prepared for a lot of reading.
The place has little air conditioning so you might be a bit sweaty from the humidity in...
Read moreFinally had the chance to go to Clark Museum. As expected, the displays were focused on Clark and Pampanga's growth. I loved that they utilised the window blinds to show pictures of birds that can be found here in Pampanga. I also like that they showcased old town celebrations that I have never heard of before. I was focused on reading descriptions so I wasn't able to take a lot of pictures (yep, I only took three pics 😅). 😊
If you are interested in any type of history, you can go to the Angeles Museum first for an overview before going to the Clark Museum and the Pamintuan Mansion for the more focused history chapters. 😊
I paid Php200 for me and my son. My 7 year old daughter was allowed to join us for free. Yep, they're open on...
