Italianni’s — Restaurant in Makati

Since the previous review, I have visited twice and both times solid service, food, and attention to detail. So glad there has been a great improvement. Special shoutout to Franz for the excellent service and ensuring everything was good periodically throughout my meal. Two stars because the food quality is what you would expect from Italiannis. The kitchen staff did a good job preparing our food.

The service staff, however, was horrible. They generally ignored our table and other tables, played on their phones, and at several times were entirely absent from the restaurant for several minutes. From the time we were sat, it took 10 minutes for someone to acknowledge our presence and it was the manager, Patrick. He took our order and it arrived in a reasonable amount of time. As I mentioned before our meal was good. Never once did anyone check on us to see if we needed anything or how the meal was. We waited around for several minutes to flag someone down and get our bill, except all the staff had disappeared. For five minutes I couldn’t find anyone to bring us our bill. Finally I went outside, yes OUTSIDE, to find the manager hanging out. He brought us the bill. It took three credit card machines to finally run my card. The cherry on top was him accusing me of something being wrong with my card. There was nothing wrong with my card. The readers weren’t connected to the internet.

Save yourself the hassle and frustration and go elsewhere if you want a good...

Update: it appears that most of the staff has been changes so we tried again. The experience was so much better. Attentive staff and even a check in from the manager. The food was good as it has always been. Will return again.

This location has the lowest rating out of all the locations in Metro Manila for a reason. The service is dismal. No one is watching the store. We arrived no one was at the door. We had to wait for someone to notice us before we were seated. There were 3 tables with customers. The restaurant was almost empty. We were told that Franz was our server and that Patrick was the manager on duty. Franz was no where to be found and we had to flag Patrick down to take our order. It was after our order was taken, we were given bread and water.

Our food arrived and was great. The chefs are consistent and food quality is good per their standard as a chain.

No one checked in on us during our meal. They were too busy playing on their phones, goofing off with their friends who were on break. We had to go OUTSIDE to flag the manager Patrick to ask for our bill. Where was everyone? Oh, goofing off.

This is not the only Italian themed resto in the mall. There are constant closures of food establishments here because the competition is tough. The food is good but I can make the same thing better at home. People go out to eat for the service. Unless there is some better training and management vigilance, this place is not...

Italianni's, one of the core restaurants of the Bistro Group has opened at the 4th level (Cinema ticket sales) of Ayala Circuit Mall. Barely two weeks old, this well-loved brand hopes to bring more foot traffic and hungry patrons to the Ayala Mall that was formerly a horse race track.

One thing that keeps me going back to Italianni's is the level of service you get that only happens in fine restaurants and 5 and over star hotels. It's a pity that the iconic Greenbelt 2 branch would be closing down. In its place would be a smaller Greenbelt 5 location.

It's also nice that GM Teddy and Store Manager Beige would engage their customers to see what more they can offer. This just spells hospitality and class.

For this visit, we got a Prima Set for 1 (P650) of Salmon Pesto, Caesars Salad and Dalandan Juice, Halibut with Clams (P895), Artichoke Pizza (P795), 2pc Pork Chop (P995), Blueberry Mango Cheesecake (P580), Tartufo (P580) and a Cafe Mocha (P220).

Seldom would I find a restaurant wherein all dishes would make me smile from ear-to-ear in utter delight, Italianni's is one of the few.
