Are the people reviewing this place drunk? This is by far the worst sushi I've ever had in my 31 years on this planet.
My party arrives at midnight when no one else is around, so we presumed we would get attentive service. The initial tea and miso soup we were served were lukewarm, as though they had been sitting around for half hour and just handed to our group. We place a pretty large order relative to our group size and the food starts arriving.
Salad, nothing special but fresh mango a nice touch. Gyoza, again nothing special but edible. Tuna and Salmon Sashimi platter, unmitigated disaster, cuts of fish are not fresh, dark marks around the bottom of almost every piece of salmon. Tuna Tataki, somehow worse than the sashimi, never before have I ever spit out a piece of tuna before last night. Mango Roll, horrible, way too much mayo and dressing all over the top, perhaps in an effort to disguise the taste of the fish. Remaining orders included the mixed vegetable tempura and a skewer with chicken and vegetables which were fair.
One of the females in our party went to the restroom and the condition she met it in almost made her throw up. A unisex bathroom which had a full trash can, toilet paper everywhere, reeking. Why is the bathroom in this condition after midnight with almost no-one in the restaurant?
A crab soup we ordered had not yet arrived and our initial attempts to cancel it were unsuccessful. In one bright spot, after speaking to the manager she had it removed from the bill.

Read moreMiddle-ranged food dining. Accepts Gcash payment. Quiet inside with some japanese music. Coming in for lunch, they gave me a complimentary dish of miso soup, Oriental cabbage with a small hint of of mayonnaise, pickled radish, and water. Had a mouthful quickly at a time. Tried the medium sized mixed sushi platter. It came quickly, and it had the novel octopus sushi in it. So far, the shrimp and octopus were slightly cooked while the rest were raw. The sushi was a bit loose, so I just ate a mouthful at a time. The serving size is bigger than I expected, which made the set filling. The wasabi serving was generous, as well as the free water. The chicken kaarage had a crunchy skin, some herbs to it, and some chilli sweet and sour sauce. The staff was attentive and it almost seemed like they were waiting on me because I was the sole diner inside (others were having their outdoor dining) at the time. Interestingly, they had no service charge. It's a good place to visit if you want to go somewhere with a good ambiance...
Read moreWhat a pity ... The ambience of this almost hidden Japanese restaurant is very nice.
The food though disappoints or to put it better, maybe not for our taste buds.
As you can see from the pictures we tried a good selection of choices on offer and you may also observe that we left the food after trying bits and peaces.
The service was fast and courteous. The food arrived at the table very soon after we ordered and the looks were appealing and promising.
The taste though is not for us and in particular, the sushi dishes were almost not eatable.
The sauce on the makati salad was overwhelming. The grilled chicken yakitori was okay, a bit dried and the broccoli were fine.
There was miso and other Japanese style appetisers on offer free of charge at the beginning of our dinner which is very kind and generous.
So, very nice ambience, reasonable prices, well presented dishes, courteous and fast service, nice Japanese music as background, mediocre in our view food. ...
