SERVICE SUCKS BIG TIME
Makchang has been my go-to samgyupsal place since 2020 because I really like their meat and soup. When we went there two months ago, I noticed that the service was slow—but I didn’t mind, thinking they might just be busy, even though there were only a few customers at the time. I just let it pass. However, when we went again last night, I realized that their service really has changed—and it sucks now!
When I raised my hand for assistance, they would just look at me then look at other staff and hesitate like they don’t know what they’re going to do. I even saw someone at another table raising their hand, and the staff just walked past them like they didn’t even notice—even though the guest was clearly within their peripheral view.
Some of the staff in the kitchen were just chatting, and the cashier was busy laughing with another staff member. Minutes passed after we paid and we still hadn’t received our change, so we had to go up to them and ask for it. The cashier didn’t even remember that we had already paid. We had to explain and basically replay how we gave our payment and even describe the kind of cash we used. Thankfully, the staff who took our payment remembered. But the cashier looked at us like we were trying to get away without paying—which was really frustrating and unfair.

Another korean samgyupsal style I highly recommend ... lots of really delicious side dishes that makes the trip, and prices worth it.
How to get there: When in AS Fortuna area, check this place out. Just look where jollibee is located, Makchang is located within this complex.
Pros: -They give a big discount for takeouts the feel is on another level compared with other korean restos so many side dishes to choose from, and comes free with your order highly recommend their duck .. a bit pricey but worth it very friendly and courteous staff
Cons: -the price? Maybe pricey for some. it's not unlimited style, so if you're hungry and looking for unli meat, I won't recommend this then.
In Conclusion:
We were the first customers to arrive at 630 pm, and by 730 the place was already packing - meaning the food is that good and worth the trip The complex also has other places to visit...
Read moreI shared with my friend that every weekend I go to Yukga BBQ in IT Park to enjoy Korean food. My friend recommended another restaurant called Makchang near my school, saying it has the same owner, so I assumed the quality would be similar.
I went there today, usually, I go alone. I ordered a kimchi stew and a portion of grilled meat. I’m not sure if it was because I was alone, a foreigner, or because I didn’t order much, but I felt the service wasn’t very attentive. Normally, grilled meat comes with lettuce, but I only received it after I asked about it.
My table also didn’t have a bowl or several other basic items... I felt a bit disappointed, especially since I thought I’d come here often because it’s close to school. I guess I’ll just return to my usual spot in IT Park. Still, I want to thank the owner for opening many Korean restaurants with...
