The food is great! I am no expert in distinguishing real italian flavours, but have had my fair share of it, Tavolata is in the running for one of the best in town. Quite the fancy fine dining place.
My favourite would be the pizzas (of course it is). For me, I know when a pizza is really good when I don't mind eating the crust alone. Baked to perfection, crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside.
For pastas you can opt for their homemade selections - made fresh every day. If you like wine they are knowledgeable about pairings so ask away. I don't drink, so I can't say if they were good.
Most of their dishes are good for sharing, so pace yourself. And have some coffee at the end.
They are pricey, but for some special occasion, and when you really want some good food, why not.
The interiors though, top of the line. I really love the the ambiance, the modern / contemporary rustic design, which complements the facade of the area outside.
Accessibility might be an issue though, for those with mobile assistance , as the rest rooms are in the loft, that's 2 flight of stairs up. I do know Design Centre (bldg where Tavolata is in) has public restrooms for each floor. Also no oets...
Read moreProbably the least value for money restaurant we have eaten in so far in Cebu. Portion sizes are very small. We ordered a seafood marinara from the menu that was supposed to be a serving size for 2 - 4 persons to share between us. The dish we received was a single kiddie's serve. There was no complaint about the taste as it was quite good, however we left feeling hungry even with a side serving of broccoli. The calamansi shake wasn't a shake, but a small amount of juice with a large amount of crushed ice in it. The staff should try the same at Rica's in the Henry Hotel who know how to make a proper calamansi shake. Service was attentive, but marred by the early close of the kitchen. Waiter constantly reminded us of this fact. We didn't stay long as it didn't take much time to consume this...
Read moreThe food is really great. It is pricey but it can be justified. Once in a while if you wanted to splurge a bit on food and drinks, this can be a place for you to consider.
We had the Antipasta Platter which was a selection of different cheeses, cold cuts, vegetables, and bread. The carbonara was okay for me but the pasta itself is good. The funghi pizza was nice and it contains fried pancetta, an assortment of mushrooms and has a drizzle of truffle oil. I am not sure if the pizza is for everyone though. As for the drinks; they have a wide selection of red and white wines, and a good number of liquors. We have selected a bottle of white wine from Australia. The taste of which is really great and fresh.
As for the service, the crew were very attentive and welcoming. Over all it was a...
