Read moreMy partner and I were looking for a restaurant that serves both meat and vegetarian meals as he eats meat and I am veggie. My partner was desperate to try Rico's lechon as he had heard good things! I was a little sceptical that I would find anything for me. However, when the waitress initially had difficulty understanding what I was asking, the manager, Angelico, came over to explain which things on the menu could be adjusted so that they were vegetarian. He proceeded to suggest some sides and a drink that was a local drink which turned out to be soooo refreshing. He went to speak to the chef and was continually returning to ask if I could have things like garlic, or cheese (vegetarianism is quite rare in the philippines). Our waitress, Aly, was very chatty and wanted to give us some tips on where to visit. Angelico spoke to us about our trip too and wanted to ensure we got the most out of our time in the philippines. We mentioned that we wanted to visit Palawan and he advised us on the safe areas to visit, and gave us some invaluable information. Regarding our food, we had a feast! My partner described the lechon (pig belly) as the best he had encountered so far on our trip in the philippines and my meal was scrumptious too. All of the staff were very attentive and our whole experience at Rico's lechon...
Read moreRico's lechon has been a choice when it comes to lechon. But as for review, here are some of my thoughts: the place is cozy and hip, with their colorful chair made from gemelina, mahogany and pine wood solids. the interior is good but I like the one in Mactan plenty of choices in foods but the main attraction is the lechon. as for the lechon, tbh, it tasted differently from what it was used to. Before it was closed due to political motives, we've been ordering their lechon for parties, and we loved it, but now when I tasted it again, it doesn't have that wow factor, worse part, the lechon that was served to us was cold already, they could have heated it. the chopseuy tastes really good, the chorizo...hmmmm, as a Cebuano, I felt insulted when I ordered the chorizo. It's small, soggy and freaking expensive, seemed like they steamed it,not grilled. You're better off buying from Larsian or Matias, trust me. But one thing's for sure, the Caldero for 1 rice is so adorable 😊. Anywho, hopefully they could lower the price of their foods, especially the lechon, it's...
