Craved for wanton mami and we visited this branch.
We ordered a lot-because we skipped lunch due to errands, and also to try our most of the menu. Granted, its been a while since our last visit in this establishment.
The chinese style fried chicken was a clear winner. Right crisp, right flavor, portions were generous aside from the rice. The sodas still have that infamous notorious grease though(see photos). I enjoyed this a lot despite that. Recommended.
The wonton mami noodle and soup was still satisfying, exactly as I remember it. The wonton, however, was drastically different from my last visit. Its meat texture is similar to low quality hot dogs. Its either overcooked, or its more shrinkflation. The wonton is disgusting, but I suppose its still okay overall.
I only had a spoonful of the chow fan but it tasted like rice sauteed to knorr beef cubes as usual. Add to that the downgraded siomai. Terrible.
The siopao was just so-so. It was ok for the price. I was just surprised it was so small. But at least, the filling was still decent enough. This is just ok.
The chicken chop was great! Right amount of texture and the sauce was similar to the Barbecue sauce of McDonalds’ Chicken Nuggets, but just add a ginger flavor towards the end. Its a bit expensive at ₱112, ₱13 expensive that what I think it should be. Its good when you’re there, but I don’t envision myself craving it in the next few weeks. This is a decent pickup.
Overall, we had a lauriat. Spent around ₱580 or so pesos for two people, but its almost all of the menu already.
Its ok I guess for what it is. It is just another JFC brand in the end after all....

I ordered few days in advance for delivery on Saturday for my surprised mother's day dinner treat for my mother and my family, worth about P3,000!. I ordered it COD cause my sister will pay it (I live abroad, unable to use thier online payment method). I ordered through the apps for 5:30 pm delivery. Got text messages and we confirmed the order. That day before (Friday) my sister messaged them and moved the delivery time to 6:30pm (as they will be late coming home from an appointment) and chowking replied "noted po". Well guess what ?????? SATURDAY AFTERNOON chowking texted again " you're order has been CANCELLED, we apologize for any inconvenience ".
Its an order in advance and its a big order ! Not enough food, no one to delivery? OR just plain mismanagement! It's an order in advance that you confirmed/noted!!!!
With all the money you put to more accessible online , you should focus more in re-training your staff. And if there's even a valid reason for cancelling then be more customer friendly to explain it and not just "apologies for any inconvenience " that it doesn't even feel like apologizing but more of " we don't want to deliver on that location or we dont want to make that much food we're...
Read moreI recently had a truly disappointing experience at Chow King that I feel compelled to share. I ordered the siopao bola bola, and not only was the food subpar, but the service was abysmal. When I requested a sauce to accompany my meal, they informed me that they were out of stock—not even a single packet of hot sauce was available. This is unacceptable for any restaurant, especially one that claims to prioritize customer satisfaction.
To make matters worse, I had to wait an excruciatingly long time for my order, and as someone with a disability, I found it incredibly frustrating that no staff member offered assistance as I struggled to walk through the door. They clearly saw my difficulty but chose to ignore it. This lack of empathy and support is disheartening and reflects poorly on their customer service standards.
Overall, my visit to Chow King was a complete letdown, and I would not recommend it to anyone looking for a pleasant...
