Discovering Manila Cafe Sta. Mesa started with excitement because I had heard it stays open until midnight, which is perfect for hanging out and working with friends late into the evening. I've been to their other branch before and had a good experience, so I was looking forward to this visit.
However, when my friend went to the cafe to reserve for 5 ppl, he asked if we could sit upstairs, the staff told us we couldn't. They explained they were trying to fill the ground floor first with customers. While the staff were polite about it, we couldn't help but feel disappointed and confused. We were a group of five, and we were really hoping to sit together upstairs.
It just didn't make sense to us. Why have a cafe with two floors if you're not going to let customers use both? It felt like a missed opportunity for them, as they could have easily accommodated our group and provided us with a better experience.
Despite this setback, I still appreciated the cafe's cozy atmosphere and the variety of options on their menu. But the whole situation left us wondering why they would open if they weren't going to let customers fully enjoy the space.
I hope they'll consider being more flexible in the future, so everyone can make the most out of their visit to Manila...
