TOTALLY DISAPPOINTED WITH THE STAFF’S BEHAVIOR. TRAIN THEM, TRAIN THEM HOW TO PERFORM A GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE. TRAIN THEM HARD.
We went around 2pm with little to less customers inside. One woman staff, which I didn’t had the chance to get her name (big lips and big nose if I were to describe it), threw out the menu on our table like we weren’t there, we knew we had to let it slip since we just came. We called her to have our order taken, and while quickly deciding on which drink to have, her eyes keeps on rolling and lips smirking as if her time is so precious and expensive that she needs to be at home in no time! Again, we had to let it slip. THIS IS WHEN IT GETS SERIOUS. When the food came out, she tossed our saucer aside (which had toyomansi and chili in it) to give way on the food she was serving which totally SPILLED and almost, ALMOST ruin our clothes. Did she apologize? OF COURSE NO! Why should she apologize? I mean, she’s not trained, right? That’s when we had to call her attention, but come on, we didn’t want to escalate it yet since we are not that kind of person.
Once we are done eating, we got our bill. This other staff gave out the receipt and a couple of wipes. You know what made us even angrier? She THREW the wipes at the table. She didn’t it place it gently nor gave it to our hand. NO, SHE THREW IT. While she was waiting us for the payment, she was standing right in front of us, looking into our eyes, with her arms crossed like a principal, and smirking. I guess her time is so precious as well. I don’t know, maybe I’m wrong. 🤷🏻♂️
This is the worst customer service we ever had. I swear. Considering their price isn’t cheaper compared to Davids, Causeway, and other fine chinese restaurants (who has cheaper dimsum price). And not to mention the kitchen is dirty like you are convinced to never wanting to get back.
Before leaving, we escalated this to their manager who was wearing Yellow uniform that time. I am not sure if there was any action for the rude staff’s behavior, but whoever is reading this, it may be the owner, the HR, or the manager, please do something about your customer service. Cause I pity the others who...
Read moreExcellent Food. The food you usually get from a Cantonese restaurant. Fairly cheap price. You also have a VIP room in the second floor. Rest room are clean. The restaurant is clean as well, utensils are sanitized. You can chose using either chopsticks or spoon and for or either both. However, parking could be a problem since it is found beside the busy street of Ongpin. It could be OK if you will just walk going there. There are parking spaces available, however it could be far and will need a hike. I also love the cold cuts there that are being served. The staff are very kind and accommodating very courteous. Service is excellent, however we dine there almost late in the evening. As always there are free teas that will be serve to you. There’s also TV for your entertainment while waiting for the food. The food are served hot and freshly cooked, hot of the wok. The vibe is very traditional and Cantonese, however most of the staff are already Filipinos. Overall, if you are looking for a decent Chinese restaurant to eat in Ongpin or in Binondo you can try Mei Sum Tea House just in the heart of...
Read moreThis is one of the few Chinese restaurants in Binondo that accept credit cards (as the 'all-time favorites' normally don't bother and you'll need to bring cash) - and they're air-conditioned. So - perfect for the heat of summer.
However, after that, you really need to look at to whether the quality of the food justifies the credit-card/aircon option.
We ordered the following (and I rate them as-follows): the jumbo siopao (which my nephew said was missing on the meaty filling and was more on the dough), the cuapao (which my wife said was different from what she used to eat as a child), the oyster cake (P320 or so, and this was good for me - but I prefer what I tasted over at Sincerity), the salt and pepper spare-ribs (medium size at around P450) which was better over at Emerald Garden along Roxas Boulevard.
So....unfortunately, I end up comparing the food here to various other Chinese restaurants in Metro Manila. Let me put it this way - if you have wads of Peso bills in your wallet and you don't need the air-con comfort...then there are better selections in the...
