I recently visited Delicious Restaurant located at 580 F. Torres St., corner Gonzalo Puyat, with my siblings after being intrigued by a popular vlog. Unfortunately, my experience did not meet the expectations set by the video.
We began our meal with their signature fried chicken. While it was not dry, I found the flavor to be quite ordinary—decent but lacking any memorable taste. Next, we tried the kikiam. We ordered two sets, but I was disappointed with its flavor; I’ve had better from street vendors.
On a positive note, the lumpiang shanghai was impressive. It had a great taste and texture, earning a solid 5/5 in my book. This dish was certainly a highlight of our visit.
For our rice, we ordered the special fried rice, which I would rate a 3/5. It was fine, but again, nothing that stood out as special. We also tried the pansit canton, which had a lovely flavor, but the noodles were overcooked and mushy, which detracted from the overall enjoyment.
Lastly, we sampled the seafood soup, and unfortunately, it was the most disappointing part of the meal. The taste did not meet my expectations at all.
In terms of service, I found it to be decent; the staff were polite and attentive. However, given my overall experience, I personally wouldn’t recommend Delicious Restaurant. While others may enjoy certain dishes, it didn’t leave a lasting impression on me, and I likely won’t be returning.
Thank you for reading my review. I hope it helps others in their...
Read moreWent here because my dad have fond memories about this place, especially their miki bihon which he says, started his love for noodles. We ordered miki bihon, pork asado and goyong.
The goyong was nice, similar to chinese kikiam. Not sure what the difference is but it tasted as what I've come to expect based on how it looked.
Miki bihon was okay I guess. The seasoning and the wok hei on this dish is on point. I just didn't like the toppings they used. The luncheon meat felt like I was eating cardboard, the siomai they put also felt like eating paper
The asado they served is bordering a lawsuit. They served us spoiled food. At first, the ones they have sliced on top were okay. A bit sweet and just what I'd expect from binondo style asado. What I had a problem with is at the bottom of the pile, were rancid slices of meat, smelled pungent and I would guess, spoiled meat.
We stopped eating after that and left. It was a good thing we didn't get stomach problems after.
I would say no to coming back to this place. I would have let it slide if it's just a matter of taste. But serving spoiled food they themselves sliced before serving is unacceptable.
My case might be isolated, but I would advise anyone who wants to try this restaurant to stick to their cooked to order meals. Never try anything that has been cooked in-advance to avoid the same...
Read moreWe had the following: Siomai - I love this! my fave from what we ordered today Sate Beef Noodles - This was too salty for me. Probably best to pair with siopao? I don’t know 🤷♀️ Camto Mi - The soup was so good! Noodles was yum and there was generous serving of camto Tortang Oyster - Serving was huge! My fave was the crispy edges. The oysters were not malansa. It was good esp if you like oyster omelette
Service: Straightforward and fast. No frills. Don’t expect the usual customer service.
Atmosphere: People come here for the food. Rated this 1 because of the super slippery floor esp at the ground floor (though i think it’s just because of my shoes) and there was a little cockroach that kept on crawling on our table. There are other outdated restaurants in the area but it’s the first time I saw cockroach. This dampened our appetite :( The place is...
