Beeffalo by Hotrocks — Restaurant in Marikina

Returning to Beeffalo by Hotrocks in Gil Fernando, Marikina, after my initial visit in 2016 stirred up a mix of nostalgia and disappointment. While my first experience was memorable and enjoyable, I couldn't help but notice a decline in the restaurant's overall quality since then.

The ambiance remains charming, evoking fond memories of my first visit. However, the same cannot be said for the food. What was once exceptional now falls short of expectations. The dishes lack the same flavor and finesse that made them stand out years ago.

Moreover, I observed significant changes in pricing, serving sizes, and overall quality. It's evident that Beeffalo by Hotrocks has undergone a shift, and unfortunately, it seems to have been for the worse. As a longtime patron, I hope to see improvements in the future, restoring the restaurant to its former glory.

I asked clearly if the pasta sauce does not have any meat fish or egg ingredients in it as it's not stated in the menu. The waitress said none. I told her again if there is, as I am allergic to fish egg and chicken. She confidently said "wala po.yan lang ingredients nyan" pointing at the menu.

First bite, tasted like the sauce has fish ingredients. I went to the staff area and asked if there's fish sauce or any likes of it as I can taste it. There is!!! I want to rage out as I was already starting to get allergic after that first bite. But I did not do any commotion, I just told them "I asked about this earlier a I'm allergic to fish."

No apologies received. 😑 This was my 2nd time here. Staff were more amiable with our 1st visit last 2021 while we are still in quarantine. It's much different now. The place is clean quiet and accessible with adequate parking. They strictly observe the recommended seating and spaces for the number of people as recommended by the IATF in this COVID times. Your food is cooked as you order and like any other place there's a little wait time. Currently they got the doneness of their steaks right. They serve steaks with BBQ sauce. If you prefer Gravy be sure to tell the waiter as you order. Steaks are served with mashed potatoes which are good but garlic rice also goes well with it.
