Kuya J in SM Marikina is quite small as compared with other branches so, you have to wait to be seated. The dining staff, posted at the entrance isn't knowledgeable how she would manage those who are waiting for tables. I went there just for dessert, their Ube Halo-halo Espesyal which was a HUGE disappointment. It wasn't halo-halo at all, it was just like a flavored sherbet with a couple of sweetened banana slices and about five pieces of green-colored nata de coco and a small slice of leche flan on top. The Ube Halo-halo Espesyal in Kuya J SM Tarlac was richly served with sweet macapuno and flavored nata de coco with some sweetened banana slices a scoop of Ube ice cream with a chunk of leche flan on top which I really enjoyed. I called the attention of one of the dining staff in the Marikina branch and showed her a photo of how Ube Halo-Halo Espesyal was served in another Kuya J branch in SM Tarlac. And the only reason I got was that, "franchised lang po kase kami, eh!" 😂 So, low quality na at tinipid!!! I am very disappointed! I was expecting some CONSISTENCY between Kuya J branches. How about their dishes? I wonder... You can tell the difference by simply looking at the photos attached. Picture 1 is of KUYA J in SM Tarlac. Picture 2 is of KUYA J in...

Came here twice, both on a Sunday and at lunchtime. Twice the much advertised halo-halo was unavailable. On the second time we made sure to ask first before lining up for seats and they said it was available, but as we began to order the server said it wasn't available anymore which only served to disappoint and frustrate my entire family who came here just for that. We ordered Sisig and Crispy Pata, the latter was okay at best but as for the Sisig. Halfway through our meal my sister smelled something odd which my father immediately agreed to, everyone spat it out in unison as apparently there was something most likely rotten, either the egg or the meat. The manager compensated us with free iced tea and one serving of halo-halo, although the halo-halo was served BEFORE our meal. All in all the halo-halo was worth it, although I'd much rather have my own serving rather than share just one with four other people. Eat here at...

Food 8/10 The Kare kare was really good but in small portions

Service 5/10 They seem to be understaffed

Wait time 2/10 Had to wait 10 minutes to get seated even though there was a lot of available tables. They said they had to clean the tables first which they didnt even do for the first 5 minutes.

Place 2/10 We were first seated at the far end inside the place. It was too noisy with the register and cooking going on. We asked to change table near the entrance but it took another 10 minutes because they had to clean the table. after waiting new customers came in without asking and sat at the table we were supposed to transfer to. Waitress noticed and asked them for their order. She was aware we will transfer there but did not reprimand them. They forgot about us even though we already ordered. And our food was ready but was on hold since we asked to be transferred. Luckily another table was vacated near...

There were a group of 10 ahead of us and unfortunately, there are no seats available for them. We were behind them and told them we are a group of three. You can see in the pix that both left and right have available seats but they chose not to let us seat and rather wait for the group of 10 to be seated first. Since they are after the number of order and payment that they'll be getting, they instead asked us to wait. If they are efficient, they could have let us take the available seat. We ended up eating at Max's instead. Unfortunately, this is the 2nd Kuya J's outlet that has shown this kind of behavior towards their customer Take the bigger group first and lwt the lesser ones wait even if we know there are seats available that can accomodate the lesser ones. 👎👎👎👎 If Kuya J's management is reading this, you may want to think abt how you can serve your customers more efficiently.

The food was ok, nothing special, very small serving. The service wasn't good. It was like dining in a cafeteria, the staff just took order, delivered food and took your money. When our entree was served, it included the appetizer. We were given water in discrete glasses, but when we also ordered a pitcher iced tea, it didn't include glasses for it. I got to drink out of a pitcher in a "restaurant", so there's that. There were no napkins, I had to wipe my mouth with the back of my hand like a savage. We weren't given silverware until we asked for some, guess they wanted their customers to do authentic Filipino eating with hands. You need to put your hand in front of a staffer's face to get their attention. Not worth what I paid for.
