We had lunch here and came around past 12nn. We understood that it was the busiest time. When we entered, staff were observed to be occupied which was expected, therefore we chose our own table which was still dirty. The staff wiped the table quickly with a wet cloth, so we can use the table and sit down. Since it was quick, table was still wet, so I cleaned the table myself. The rice and other leftover debris went to the chairs which I removed. I was with my baby and my brother. The chairs were ratan and the seatback were already torn, which can be hazardous to anyone as the whole ratan was literally out of the chair itself.
We waited for about 5-7 mins and nobody even brought us the menu which eventually I asked for as soon as I saw an available staff. He immediately handed over the menu and apologized.
Few minutes after, staff Zyril came and we have given our orders. My brother requested for a single order of Sinigang na Bangus and Crispy Pata, however, Zyril informed us that THERE WAS NO SINGLE ORDERS IN THE MENU AND ONLY SALO MEALS WERE AVAILABLE, except for Crispy Pata. My brother then told him that we will get the salo (no choice) for Sinigang na Bangus and single order for the Crispy Pata, platter of plain rice and a pitcher of Iced Tea. He never specified that only the SINIGANG NA BANGUS DOES NOT HAVE THE SOLO MEAL. I can still clearly remember that I did cross check with him that ALL SOLO MEALS are not available except for Crispy Pata and HE CONFIRMED IT. After we have given the order, HE DID NOT CHECK BACK WITH US OUR FINAL ORDER, instead he just told us to wait for 20mins and left with urgency.
After 25mins, the water and a pitcher of Iced tea were served (but without a glass for Iced tea).
Another 30mins more, the Crispy Pata was served and we started eating as we were already hungry. Few mins after, my brother followed up for our Sinigang na Bangus. Zyril came and CONFIDENTLY told us that WE DID NOT ORDER FOR SINIGANG as my brother was UNDECIDED. I did not like how we were approaced by ZYRIL as he was arrogant, no apology, never admitted of his mistake and passing the blame on us. I told him that I was there the whole time and I witnessed everything. I told him that he never cross checked our order before leaving and that we never told him that we are not sure of our order. Let’s say we were not really sure, why he never came back and checked on us again if we are already decided. We knew they were very busy, so we would never want to waste the opportunity to give them all our orders at once.
People make mistakes and that is okay. However, ZYRIL DID NOT EVEN SHOW ANY REMORSE, WAS NEVER APOLOGETIC, HIS FACIAL EXPRESSION WAS FULL OF ARROGANCE AND VERY UNPROFESSIONAL.
Again, Kuya J restaurant has an excellent quality of food. But as to our experience, it is the staff, particularly MR. ZYRIL, that makes the reputation of the...
Read moreWe went there earlier nka shorts and tsinelas. Asked the waiter if pwede mga bata cause we had two kids with us, sabe samen wait daw sa labas. So we waited as we were told. Cause i wanted to try their baka kaldereta. While sitting outside another waiter came to us to ask if kakain ba kami sa loob(may mga umuupo kase sa labas na prang nagppahinga lang) so sabe ko sa waiter, sabe nyo maghintay dito. A few minutes later, he came back and told us to come inside. So we went inside, i noticed they have high chairs so when we got inside, i asked if pwede ba mkahiram high chair cause we had a two year old, sabe ng ulupong na waiter cge daw.. So we sat down, and looked at the menu. Which to be fair, ok yung beef kaldereta nila jan, but other than that most menu items are mediocre but priced, well lets just say prang di justified... Anyhow, going back to my story, we sat down, looked at the menu and was about to order, i found a waiter walking around, and mind you the place was nowhere near full.. Yet when i asked him to get our order. all he said to me was WAIT! And he then went straight to the door. I observed him cause ive never been treated so very nicely by a waiter before(sarcasm). After heading to the door this ape of a waiter just stood there and started to pretend to fix their paper menus near the door. Then he just stood there... Thats when i realised, this guy didnt want to serve us at all. So i stood up took my kids and went out.. Oh by the way, we were there for a good 10-15minutes inside.. The high chair never came. And there were by my count around 4 tables that had customers... it obviously wasnt a busy time there. The customer service in kuya j sucat, is truly one of a kind... Honestly, why should people ever bother going there? I for sure aling with my family wouldnt... And ill be sharing this as much as i can. So again thank you kuya j sucat! You...
Read moreWe ordered kare kare, pochero, bulalo, baked mussels and whole fried chicken. Bulalo: the saltiest bulalo i have ever tried. Sobra alat at walang beef flavor. Yung meat still need more boiling time,,makunat. Too oily...grabe ang oil that's floating on top of the soup. It seems to me that they just keep boiling and boiling the same soup over time...adding more water everytime kaya walang ka flavor flavor ang bulalo. Kare kare is average, my sister in laws kare kare is 10X better. I guess i could say that anyone can make better kare kare than that. Pochero is very good...well balance and the vegetables is fresh and has a little crunch to it. Mussels: do not buy it when it is not in season. The meat is so small and it is very oil. It comes to our table served in a stoneware plate...,it was cold. So, my guess is that it was probably prepared and done for days who know how long and when people comes to order it..they just arrange it on a plate, and popped in a microwave. The chicken looks exactly as pictured but dry. It is not freshly made. It was flavorful and crunchy and better to eat it as soon as they serve it. Service is average. Our food came after a looong wait. We are already done eating when the chicken and the mussels came. We really thought they made a mistake taking our orders. Now that we know...we will never go...
