Amare La Cucina presents itself as a cozy, homey Italian eatery with some promise but falls short in a few key areas, making for a mixed dining experience. This earns it a moderate three-star rating from my visit.
Firstly, parking proved to be a challenge; the lot was full even though the restaurant was less than half occupied, which was both surprising and inconvenient. Once inside, the ambiance was quite welcoming, featuring nice decor that does well to set a relaxed tone.
The menu at Amare La Cucina is centered around their brick oven pizzas, which unfortunately did not live up to expectations. The pizza was slightly undercooked—a clear sign that while the oven was indeed hot, as evidenced by the burnt spots on the underside of the crust, it did not translate into the desired crispy texture or enhanced flavor. The result was a pizza that felt lackluster rather than a showcase of what a good brick oven can do.
Other dishes were similarly disappointing. The chicken wings in spicy honey sauce lacked complexity, leaning too heavily on sweetness without the balancing spice one might expect. The beef carpaccio, meant to be served with arugula, came with romaine lettuce instead, diminishing what could have been a more refined dish.
On a positive note, the Pasta Supreme Meatballs stood out as the highlight of the meal, well-prepared and flavorful enough to be memorable.
Service was efficient and friendly, with staff doing their best to provide a good experience despite the culinary shortcomings.
Overall, while Amare La Cucina offers a pleasant environment and competent service, the food itself doesn’t quite hit the mark, especially for those seeking a genuine Italian culinary experience. This restaurant might suit those looking for a simple meal in a nice setting, but it may not satisfy the cravings of more discerning lovers of...
Read moreService used to be good and fast, but lately we noted that serving time took much longer than before, especially during peak hours. This has happened several times already, that the food was served very late. But the last straw was today. We ordered pizza and pasta. We were assured that food will be served in 20-25 minutes. The pasta got served after 25 minutes. But after following up the pizza and waiting for exactly 70 minutes, the waiter asked for us to cancel the pizza as, to quote, “hindi daw kakayanin”. Meanwhile, other tables who arrived later than we did got served their pizzas after around 40 minutes of ordering. Terrible, TERRIBLE, service!!! So sad because we loved the food in Amare. But having experienced this, we would NOT recommend this Amare branch anymore.
Perhaps the Make-Your-Own pizza should have a separate line (also own oven, etc) than those who just ordered pizza. Or if the restaurant is semi-full or full, suggest to limit the Make-Your-Own pizza availment, as we think it SERIOUSLY compromises serving time to customers, especially the ones who didn’t avail of this feature. In this way, customers who love Amare’s food can still continue to patronize the restaurant, instead of being discouraged because of the very disappointing...

I’ve been curious about this place for ages, esp after seeing glowing reviews of their Baguio branch, so I was excited to finally give it a go. We ordered a little feast: lasagna (which leaned more toward baked mac—unexpected but still comforting), pizza, calamari, and a seafood paella-style dish (can’t recall the exact name, but it was generous and flavorful). The food was solid overall, though I found the tomato sauce a bit overpowering for my taste—especially on the paella. Still, it hit the spot.
Atmosphere: The place sits in the middle of an open lot, and the heat really builds up when the sun’s out. Some extra ventilation wouldn’t hurt. I had to keep my Jisulife fan running the whole time 🫠 Not a dealbreaker, but something to note if you're sensitive to heat.
Still, the food was lovely and filling. I’d love to try the Baguio branch someday—just to see how the OG compares!
