I visited this twice already. My first visit did not go so well because of an issue on my food, but they replaced it and compensated with free dessert. My second visit, on the other hand, it also did not go as planned because expectations were not set, considering that I had reservation two hours prior.
Food is okay. I feel like there's nothing special. First and Second visit orders: Salpicao - 3/5 - Meat was tender but definitely lacked flavor and spices. Steak paella - 2/5 - Steak itself was okay, but paella was flavorless. My friend had to put the salpicao oil to her paella rice to have that certain oomph. Japa Steak and Tempura - 4/5 - Flavorful with the sautéed zucchini, and sauce. Tempura was ordinary though Hainanese Chicken - 4/5 - They let you pick which part you prefer. Big serving, smells like tinola, tastes like tinola without the soup. Great sauce options as well. Fried Hainanese Chicken - 4.5/5 - Mom liked it. I have not tasted it, but it only had small portion. Truffle Pasta with meatballs - 5/5 - I loved it even when my sister didn't. I love how smooth and creamy it is, and the aged meatballs added flavor.
Service was awesome for the most part. When I had issue on my first visit, they apologized and replaced it, and compensated with their dessert. Although when we billed out, they gave us a bill where the dessert was billed, so we had to ask for another corrected bill. On my second visit, we had a reservation since it was something they had asked on our first visit. We were placed in a very nice spot unlike my first visit where we were beside the restroom. Service was almost amazing on my second visit, staff were very helpful. I just wish they told us that certain steaks were not available when they had given us the menu. My mom was really excited about the steak so it made it difficult to order other food.
Overall, it was still a great experience because of the service. I did not feel discriminated, and we felt very well taken cared of. Just some polishes with the service like what I have mentioned. Will I come back? Yes, I still want to try their expensive...
Read moreHeard about Haichix and how they have good Hainanese Chicken AND Steak which seemed unique to me.
We decided to finally try the food and arrived at around 8pm. The indoor dining area was packed and the outdoor area had one table remaining. Luckily, since there was only two of us, they were able to give us an indoor corner table. We later learned that everyone else dining indoors made a reservation.
We decided to order their Hainanese Chicken and Salpicao as our mains while having Prawn Bisque and French Onion Soup as starters.
First to arrive was the Prawn Bisque which came with 2 slices of Focaccia. I enjoyed the bisque a lot and as an aside, it went really well with the focaccia. It came with one piece of shrimp that I consumed together with the last spoon of soup. Will order this again on future visits.
The Onion soup came with a generous amount of melted cheese on top. Was not able to taste this as I am not a fan of onions.
The Hainanese Chicken was savory inside and out. The sauces were really good as well and added to the experience. The chicken rice that came with it complemented the dish well. In hindsight, we would have asked for the chicken to be chopped if possible. We enjoyed this dish.
The Salpicao was really tender. You could also taste the garlic in every bite. I'm not sure if its the chili lover in me but I think a hint of chili or spiciness would make this even better.
The restaurant's service team should be complimented as well since they really did a good job of making us feel welcomed. They were also really attentive even on a busy evening.
Our bill for 2 was roughly 1,500 and we believe the food was worth it. Probably better to book a reservation as well before coming on weekends.
We look forward to coming back in the near future to try out their porterhouse steak.
Edit: Went back for a January 1 dinner and was not disappointed. The porterhouse...
Read moreI’ve been to this branch a total of 3 times. I try something different each time. I’ve had the steak salpicao, breakfast steak, the japa steak and tempura, the ribeye…
I really wanted to give this place a chance because it’s so highly rated. But the food is so mid!!! I have NEVER enjoyed a meal here. Even my friends weren’t happy. I have no complaints about the staff etc. just the food. Not worth the price in my opinion. There’s better out there. I think the third time will be my last.
Also, the seating inside = too noisy. Outside = chairs and tables are uneven.
But the coffee at cooper’s is good. I’ll give them that.

1st review:
Ordered the ribeye salpicao. Not sure if it was a good idea. The meat was good and tender and cooked to my liking but the presentation was giving silog vibes. IDK. The rice wasn’t very good too. And it wasn’t exactly cheap, but it didn’t feel like an expensive meal at all.
But may come back next time to try other menu items.
Coffee was good though. It was the brown butter coffee if I’m...
