cosmic has been our go-to for the past couple weeks, because everything tastes amazing!!
our go-tos are the sisig with bagnet, the fried chick'un and the miso soup:DD
the sisig with bagnet was uniquely crispy but still had the iconic taste and texture of traditional sisig
the chicken was so good, my non-veg sister thought it was real chicken wAKSHSJ crispy and flavorful, doesn't look the most accurate with the traditional fried chicken but i don't mind; the taste and texture made up for it anyway. i also love that they served it with a generous amount of gravy!! i cannot emphasize enough how good their chicken is!! all may 3 non-veg sibling lovee it, and it always keeps us coming back more hehe
both viands went really well with the garlic rice:DD
the miso tasted kind of like ramen/saltier sopas (in a good way hehehe) it's soooo much more than the traditional miso soup, with its abundance of toppings (silken tofu, vegetables, mushrooms, tofu skin) and it's silky creamy broth!!
other dishes that we also liked are the tempura platter and beanuguan
in terms of service, it was also really really great! servers were very polite and attentive. food was served within 10 mins of ordering!!
theyre menu is also really impressive-- a lot of options and all for a reasonable price! similar to their non-veg counterparts. it also indicates key ingredients the allergens each dish contains in case of any restrictions
will be back next week for our weekly dose of the...
Read moreI really wanted to like Cosmic, but our visit didn't give us a five-star experience, sadly.
We ordered the tempura platter, miso soup, sisig, and the eggplant ensalada. We came in a little before 12 noon, so we were prepared to wait as it's the lunch hour after all. Our waitress asked us to order all the items at once (when I asked if we can have the tempura platter first as an appetiser as we wanted to browse the menu a bit more) since she said there's a lot of orders coming in for the kitchen and they were making the orders in batches per table. She also assured me that they accepted payment with card.
Our food arrived after 40 minutes, and the tempura platter and miso soup were barely warm. Biting into the tempura, we got oily and cold mushrooms ☹️ The dipping sauce for the platter wasn't a lot either, not even close for a nice amount to dip all the pieces in if you wanted to dip them all. We asked for the soup to be warmed over because it was teetering on the edge of cold, and then it was almost delivered to the wrong table. Eggplant ensalada was okay. The sisig arrived last, and at least that was served hot. It tasted okay as well, missing the spicy kick/green peppers on top that one would expect of sisig though.
At the end, we were told that their card reader wasn't working after all, and we paid with cash even after being told they accept cards.
Really nice atmosphere and service was nice enough (definitely don't blame them if they're slammed). Just baffling how we didn't get served the fried tempura platter as soon as it went out of the kitchen. The state the food was served in and the food itself didn't justify the...
Read moreHands down the best vegan restaurant we've ever tried. Not only is it the best among vegan restaurants, but it can compete with non-vegan restos, too. Their karekare is better than the karekare of Cabalen, Gerry's Grill, La Fiesta, and more. Bagnet and isaw taste like real bagnet and isaw. Mushroom sinigang is also a must-try. And don't get me started on their tempura platter — everything is so good. But perhaps my favorites are their enoki tempura and tofu skin. Their fried chick'un is super delicious, too! I feel like I love it almost just as much as I love real fried chicken haha. The vegan brownie was great as well; it can even be better than the regular brownie. Tapsilog with tofu scramble is a good meal, too.
Their drinks are unique, I love the Kalamansi Juice but it's not something I'll order again. Leche flan wasn't that good, and it's so small for its price. Another bestseller which I didn't like that much was their sisig, but maybe that's just me. Lumpia, coco adobo, kaldereta and siomai tasted average for me.
But overall, it's such a great restaurant and one of my favorites, even if I'm a huge meat lover. (We didn't order all this in one sitting hahaah we went back quite a number of times especially during the 50% promo. My friends also treated me here: thanks to my vegan friend ate Maan and my former teammate and friend AJ for introducing...
