Hotel: Privato Hotel Ortigas Booking ID: 1637043114 Stay Dates: August 23–25, 2025
This was our first time staying at Privato Hotel Ortigas, and overall, it was a mixed experience.
August 23 – Saturday (Check-in Day) • We arrived around 2:00 PM, but the check-in queue was very long (likely because of the long weekend holiday and ongoing promos). Despite Agoda stating “express check-in,” the process took 45 minutes to 1 hour. • While waiting, we bought cookies and coffee at their café. Unfortunately, the cookies were cold, the chocolate was hard, and even the salted caramel cookie I ordered was dry and not what I expected. The Spanish coffee, however, was good. • The front staff apologized for the long wait and gave us a complimentary 2-hour extension on check-out day (August 25 at 2:00 PM), which was appreciated. • Going up to our room, I also requested a complimentary birthday setup for my husband. I didn’t expect a grand arrangement, but I was surprised that it was just a box with two brownies and a printed birthday greeting. I was hoping for the setup I often see on their social media posts (with balloons, décor, etc.). If there’s an additional fee for that, it would have been nice if they informed me in advance. The highlight of our stay was meant to be celebrating my husband’s post-birthday, but unfortunately, the setup was underwhelming.
August 24 – Sunday • Buffet breakfast was not included in our booking (I may have overlooked this on Agoda), but it would have been better if the front desk had informed us upon check-in, especially since we checked in late. • We cooked lunch in our room using the induction cooktops, but the unit had no utensils, plates, or cookware provided. We had to keep requesting items from the front desk, though knives or cutlery were not allowed. The cooking area was also disappointing—walls near the induction were greasy and not thoroughly cleaned, making tidying up difficult. • My kids tried the swimming pool. In the morning, it was very crowded (felt more like a public pool). In the afternoon, it was less busy, but still not well-maintained. • We also booked a couple’s massage in the spa room, hoping for a relaxing ambiance. To our surprise, the beds had no linens, no scented lights, no candles, and no spa-like atmosphere. The masseurs (likely on-call staff) only had two towels provided by the front desk. I had to request additional towels to cover the beds, as friction from the body on bare beds could cause discomfort. The massage itself (₱1,000 for Swedish with ventosa for 1 person) was reasonably priced, but not executed well. I requested soft strokes but still received hard pressure that was painful at times. My husband, who has high blood pressure, was not asked about medical conditions and had to warn the masseurs not to massage his nape and face area. After the ventosa, I had bruises, though the masseur explained after and applied a hot compress. Overall, the massage was just okay, but definitely not the pampering experience we expected.
August 25 – Monday (Check-out Day) • Check-out was quick and efficient. The front desk did not validate the room with housekeeping but simply processed us out immediately, which was surprisingly fast (and much smoother than check-in).
Overall Experience The staff at Privato Hotel Ortigas were warm and courteous throughout our stay, which was the highlight. However, the overall cleanliness of the property, food quality at the café, spa experience, and room facilities left much to be desired.
⭐ Rating: 3 out of 5 This hotel has potential, but consistency in cleanliness, better communication at check-in, and improved spa standards would...

The location is perfect as it is very close to Ortigas Business District, is just across a lifestyle and shopping complex and is adjacent to a famous food hub. The hotel itself is ok. It's price is relatively reasonable as compared to other hotels in the vicinity. The suite that was given to us was decently spacious and had the basic things that one would expect from a hotel room. However, I the unit is poorly lit. It's not that the bulbs are busted but how the lighting was designed. Half of the living area didn't have overhead lights. It was really dark that we had to relocate one of the desk lamps from the bedroom so we can see each other clearly. Also, the flush of the toilet wasn't working when we checked in. It was fixed as soon as we reported it but the toilet was leaking the whole time and left a puddle on the toilet floor. Finally, I'm disappointed that the ref is too small for a suite and there's no microwave oven hence we couldn't reheat our food. There was an electric stove but when we requested for pans, the front desk couldn't provide any. I mean what's the use of the stove if we can't use 'em to to cook? Finally, I think it's unacceptable that they couldn't lend us a salad bowl and additional plates and utensils. The elevator is also inadequate for a building with 20+ floors. I could go on and give a litany of complaints however, if there's one thing that redeems Privato, it would be its staff. From the moment I walked in the hotel, I felt how warm the staff is. Front desk officers were really helpful and the rest of the staff are courteous and very pleasant to interact with. They are also very response-able with all our request. When I couldn't connect to the wifi, the front desk sent an IT guy to our room right away. When I was having trouble with the toilet flush, utility was sent ASAP. Whenever I come across a staff in the hallway, I would be greeted with a warm smile. It's this aspect of Privato Hotel that made our stay, though not perfect, very pleasant. I will surely recommend Privato to my friends but they really really have to take into consideration...
Read moreStayed at Privato for quarantine (10days), I’m writing this during on my 3rd day quarantine. I booked through agoda, and read the reviews through agoda, and i wish I read up on google reviews as well. Obviously, the reviews on agoda was much better and more on the positive side.
I booked for executive twin and when I arrived, I guess they put me on a upgraded room double bed. The pictures on their website dont do its justice, its seems very spacious, but its not. So I asked for an upgrade to a bigger room, and they put me in “superior queen.” Its bigger for sure, there’s a little dining area and a kitchen, with stove, but no pots and pan nor kitchen utensils, and no microwave. Really no use of the kitchen here. There’s a little fridge though. I wanted more space since im staying here for 10 days and i dont want to be cramped in the room.
Now, here are the things I dislike about the hotel. The first room I was in, both beds the sheet and comforter and pillow cases have stains on them. I found hairs as well on both beds, under the blanket and on top. In my upgraded room, there was some stain on 1 of the pillow case. Towels were not even white, and have stains on it as well. The floors are so disgusting, its sticky and definitely need to be swept. The curtains are so filthy! The bottom is so dark that it starting to have an ombré effect, it even have little holes on them. The bathroom smells. And THERE’S ROACHES!!! I’ve killed 6 of them so far and it’s only my 3rd day. There’s some little creatures flying around and I believe they are coming from the bathroom as well, I killed 3 of them.
If you’re paying for full board, some meals do taste good, but majority of them are not. They serve breakfast so late that I’m still full by the time they serve lunch. The food are cold by the time it’s placed on the chair out your door.
Do me a favor and stay away from this hotel. It is not good for $50-$60/night. If you can spend that much money for a hotel, go somewhere else try astoria or might as well stay somewhere in Makati, seems like they have more decent hotels out there.
Ill give credit on those ladies that works on the front desk. They’re so nice and definitely have good...
