Sweet Inspirations has been a staple of Katipunan residents & students for many years.I always see that bright white chef's toque logo whenever we pass by the area. I finally got to experience it when I had a power lunch with a friend.

First impressions: time seems to have stood still as seen from the interiors. Not necessarily a bad thing but it does need to be as bright & inspirational as its name. The a/c feels like it's overdue for maintenance or replacement as it was not cool enough. The fridges fridges & display cases filled with various cakes & breads are inviting you to taste them.

Food: Menu ranges from Filipino breakfast & rice staples to Mongolian bowls, as well as desserts & beverages. I got to try their customizable Mongolian bowl and it's great value for money. It comes in 2 bowls as the serving is about 600+ grams. So best for 2.

I also saw their serving portions of breakfast items & other staples from other tables and they looked good. Something to look forward to on a next visit.

Service: There's 4-5 servers for about 100 customers from the looks of it. Service was a bit on the casual side, so it took a while before they got to take our order. Still, service is commendable.

I wanted to score it higher but basing it on 1 item alone is not enough. The interiors also dragged down the score.

Overall: 3.5 / 5. Worth visiting for a date or with...

Me and my husband spent our anniversary after reading some reviews on trip advisor. It was a long time back when I last ate here with my family so I kind of forgotten how the food tastes like. We avail their breakfast buffet and it was awesome! 5 stars for the taste! It was like a made at home typical filipino breakfast. There were dried salty fish, omelet, arroz caldo, garlic fried rice. For desserts, they had puto bumbong and bibingka, seasonal mixed fruits. The viands were accompanied by seasonings special mention on the vinegar and fish sauce apart from the salt and pepper. We left the place with our tummies so full and good enough to skip lunch. They may have a 5 star review if the airconditioners are working fine. It was pretty hot making it uncomfortable for the customers. But overall, you get value...

When we think about going for mongolian barbecue, Sweet Inspirations is way at the top of our list. This restaurant located along Katipunan avenue has been there for decades - and we've been going there when we were still students, and even now, 20+ years later. The place is cozy and conducive to family/friend gatherings, the staff are friendly, and the food is great. The unlimited Mongolian buffet is only available during weekends, but is well worth it. I guess the single bowl during weekdays would be good as well, but you'll probably crave for more once you finish it 😊 The place can fill up fast especially during weekends so it may be good to come in early or make a reservation.

First time to dine here with friends today. We were all first-time visitors in fact to this old but gold restaurant along Katipunan. Skipping the Mongolian rice bowl, we ordered beef kare-kare, lumping ubod, chicken cordon bleu, and lasagna. The taste was pretty good, but none of the dishes really was outstanding. The oxtail tripes in the kare-kare were tender and easy to chew. We missed having the ube amd mocha java cakes, but we loved the slices of pistachio sansrival, chocolate delight and cookies and cream. We liked that these cakes were not overpoweringly sweet, just the right amount of decadence.

Glad to know that it hasn't changed even with the pandemic. To comply with COVID-19 protocols, diners do not go to the buffet table for the signature Mongolian bowls anymore. They are given a sheet with choices of ingredients, which are then cooked and served. Diners are given two bowls. I am not sure if they can ask for more since one bowl was more than enough for me.
