Driving around Maginhaw a few times back made us curious about Garlic Kitchen, so we went to try it today for lunch.
Garlic Kitchen opens at 12nn on Sundays. We were there 30 minutes before opening that's why we were able to park right in front. We had to confirm via a call if they were open just to be sure. I am happy to note here that they are responsive via both call and sms.
They have a nice outdoor area but we seated inside. There were more seats outside than in the airconditoned part. We were welcomed by the staff who handed us the menu right away and ordered the following:
Taro Chips with Baked Garlic Confit πππππ The taro chips were crunchy and not too salty. The Baked Garlic Confit was delightful. The garlic dip was right under the gooey cheese crust. It was the best.
Fruity GK Salad πππππ Choose the garlic balsamic dressing for a lighter option. It also complements all the fruits on the salad. The taste of garlic in the dressing was not overpowering. The fruits made the dressing taste a little sweeter, which I loved.
Creamy Truffle Pasta πππ This was okay. Had a good amount of truffle plus they are generous with mushrooms.
Garlic Smoked Bagnet ππππ with mashed potato The meat was very tasty. Mashed potato could be improved.
Garlic Iced Tea πππππ Real brewed tea goodness!
I was too full to order the GK signature ice cream. π
There so much food to try so more reason to be back here. Plus the price point of their food is very affordable.
The place is toot hot in the afertoon but could be considered as a nice place to chill during the night.
Parking is limited to street parking. There was a parking attendant who would look after your car.
Restroom door could be improvred. Soap, bidet and papertowels...

The place is cozy and comforting, with natural fixtures and interesting artworks. They have an air-conditioned indoor area which can accommodate 3 groups of 10 or equivalent and an outdoor area with more tables, if you are coming in early opt in for the indoor area since the outdoor area is still very humid despite their efforts, typical Philippine weather. We were able to order immediately and the prices are reasonable, the serving time is 30-45 mins so don't go in there famished. What I can suggest for the restaurant is to give a small bowl of complementary snack for your guests to nibble while waiting, I believe this can be accommodated considering your food pricing. It's the least you can do. Also when ordering the shakes (we did blueberry samalamig & strawberry shake) you might wanna ask to have it delivered along with your entrees for it not to melt thoroughly or maybe the waiters could proactively ask. The food were delish we ordered the grilled bangus, garlic infused lechon baka and garlic steak bites, all of which are good. Specially the lechon baka its tender and flavourful. The grilled bangus is also great do take caution as there are still some small fishbones on the edges but those are understandable. The steak bites were good though a few of the pieces are though because of the bits tendon in it. Overall the experience is great and it is really a good place for date nights. This is someplace I can consider...

First impression - located in the not so busy part of Maginhawa , itβs like not going to a restaurant but rather the patio of your relative. Parking might be an issue during dinner peak hours. The tables were arranged very well. Ambiance was great . The servers and attendants were all very helpful and attentive. We were seated outside but itβs too humid out and we waited for inside table , the attendant was extremely helpful . Outside - Ma init , humid , and langaws are aplenty . Inside - A/C and cool vibe.
