I think this is an upgraded version of the old Binalot, although their food are just placed on a banana leaf (that serves as your plate) and not really wrapped like how the do it at Binalot.

Their Longanisa Rice Meal was good, but nothing that special. The small serving of pako salad on top of the tice was great though.

Same with their Lechon Kawali Rice Meal; nothing special, just typical Filipino comfort food, but the pako salad on top of the rice took it up one notch.

The Dinakdakan, on the other hand, despite Masarap Ba’s assertion that it’s a must-try, was a bit of a disappointment, as it’s really closer to sisig than to an authentic dinakdakan.

Finally, the fried eggplant with buro, again, it’s just your usual Filipino dish, but the buro, whicjh I think they fried, didn’t have a good texture, in my opinion. The traditional, paste-like buro is still better.

Finally, the calamansi juice…it’s refreshing but nothing too special about it.

As for the place, it’s open-air with lots of plants (hence, the resto’s name). When we had brunch there, it happened to be raining hard, so the weather was pleasantly chilly. However, I imagine it could get uncomfortably humid during a hot day, even with the plants all over the place.

Overall, the food was good, but not great enough to make driving from another city to QC worth it, in my opinion. But if you live in QC, or passing by, it’s definitely worth the try, multiple...

If you're looking for a unique dining experience in a cozy and casual setting, Gubat QC is definitely worth checking out. This restaurant serves up some of the most delicious Filipino dishes with a modern twist.

The menu at Gubat QC is creative and innovative, with unique dishes like the "Sisig ni Romeo" and "Sinigang na Lechon." Every dish is bursting with flavor and expertly prepared by the talented chefs.

The restaurant itself has a laid-back and welcoming atmosphere, with a rustic decor and comfortable seating. The service is also excellent, with friendly staff who are happy to make recommendations and ensure that your dining experience is as enjoyable as possible.

Overall, I highly recommend Gubat QC to anyone who loves Filipino cuisine or is looking for a unique and delicious dining experience. The food is amazing, the atmosphere is cozy, and the service is top-notch. Don't miss out on this...

4 Star because we're victims of the fake news article. We read that this was the same small resto operating in Baler, Aurora called Kusina Luntian. We're huge fans of their BBQ Pork liempo and chilled vibe.

Long story short, the article said that they've now opened a branch in U.P Diliman and it's called "Gubat". Well the owner confirmed with us that this article was fake and that they too were shocked when one day people started to arrive in truck loads asking if this was Kusina Luntian. Props to the owner for not self claiming the fame.

Anyway despite that we still had a good experience, the staff was friendly, food was good! we enjoyed their Lechon Kawali and Pork Adobo. They still had the similar chilled beach/garden/bahay kubo vibe.

Ps. The food is served on banana leaf and there is no utensils. Kamayan! :)

Also medyo mahirap...

The place is inside the so called Bonsai Society. You'll not recognize it at first glance because of the small sign at the entrance. Parking is quiet a hassle, you have to park along the busy C.P. Garcia Avenue. Once you enter, you will see the area where they prepare the food. All food are great! Served on banana leaves. No utensils provided, you have to eat using your hands. But they provide forks for pasta though. Wash area doesn't have paper towels, one has to air dry the hands. Wash area is where they wash the dishes, too. They have one common toilet, with a urinal. De buhos and tabo. You have to pour water to flush, and use the dipper to wash your bum. No toilet paper. Place is really a gubat (forest). I can't imagine what's it like during heavy rains. If you're not that picky on the facilities, this place woll be ok for you.
