We ate at Jin Joo because it was nearby to the mall. I was expecting some really high class service, but when we got in no one was there to help us. We had to wait 20 minutes for any service at our table all the staff seemed upset and looked like they were going to cry.
They didnāt put any effort into refilling any of the side dishes we were given, and there was also no water service. That means you would have to buy water bottles though them. Which was pretty expensive compared if you bought it from the drugstore.
We got the unlimited ā½649 which is on the high end for Korean BQQ in the Philippines. With that price, I would expect the waiters to walk around and help us with any request he had. BUT, no. We got the side dishes and they said they were āsanitizing the chopsticksā which took forever. My shopee order came faster than their service.
The meat took so long I thought they were still chasing it. Everything took forever. If it takes this long, everything should be handpicked from the high mountains of Korea.
This aside, the meat and vegetables were high quality, but came in small servings. Itās similar to quantity and quality i would find in Canada. The general ambiance of the restaurant was great with all the neon signs, lights, and colours. If the service was better and they had water service, this place would be phenomenal.
They said they āran out of lettuce,ā but as we continue to eat they were still serving lettuce to other customers in the restaurant. Every time we ordered something though the paper ticket(slips) our orders would never be correct. It was either wrong or just did not show up. I had to go to the waiters and ask about our orders often it was annoying. An example of this is we ordered enoki beef and tonkatsu but that never came. Instead we received 2 orders of chicken we did not want.
Of course we ate it without complaining because thereās a no waste policy.
There also was a large rat that ran though the floors of the restaurant. Right in front of everyone. Iām shocked because that is not up to code or sanitary especially in the world of covid. I thought it could have been a squirrel but it was a rat.
Iām upset with the service that iāve received at Jin Joo. I would recommend the ambiance, quality, and the aesthetic of the restaurant but the service does not make up for it. I wish that everyone that eats here does not have the same experience as me and my family...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreNot worth it. Comparing it to Jinjoo Glorietta (Makati) this place lacks a lot of things.
Food. Not all side dishes that are advertised are available. No fishcakes, dilis, etc. They also set up a system where the side dishes are served as "buffet" style which is good but the plates used are too small (saucers). Kimichi side dish has to be requested and repeatedly asked.
Ordering meats. Like other branches you place an order by answer the paper and giving it to the waiter. Asides from the slow serving time and small quantities serve we also experienced having our placed order completely forgotten.
The waiters are approachable, there are times when its hard to get their attention but they are much nicer than the waiters from Glorietta branch (had a bad indicent there before).
As to atmosphere, exhaust are working fine not as strong as I'd hope to but still okay. Some areas are seated to close so making it a bit cramped. Also experienced missing utensils but they probably didn't get the head count properly hence lack of utensils and cooking tools. The buffet set up seems crowded given that its right along the ramyeon area and bar area that's used by the staff.
Would I recommend this place again to my friends for samgyup? No. I was really excited to bring them here cause the food selection and portion size from Glorietta branch was great. With Eastwood branch there was a big gap in the food selection and portion size as well as the set up.
The only positive thing I could see is that they allow pets so long as they are in their respective carrier/stroller. Kudos to the waiters/servers for not...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst time to Jin Joo based on a recommendation from a friend. The place is inside eastwood so really easy to find. We did not have reservations but were seated immediately. The place is lively and has windows on two sides so is very open setting. We were served 7 different types of small plates varying from kimuchi to salted fish to sweet banana to start with. This is free of charge and are side dishes. They have an unli dinner option and alacart menue. We ordered the unli dinner which has three types of meat, we went for beef and chicken in different marinades and sauces. Few sensible conditions to follow, three plate at a time, eat what you have before you get to order next three and no leftover take home. We started with the beef and chicken, plain and salt and pepper. Followed by cajun style beef and a final round of salt and pepper. Amaong all the meat we ordered, best was the salt and pepper , followed by plain and then the chicken. The cajun style was just beef with sprinkled cajun powder, so not a great option. For drinks there was a bottomless option and soft drinks. They also serve flavored soju. Staff are very knowledgeable and accommodating giving you recommendations. They do have high chair but no kids menu, and ended up ordering a steamed egg, maybe something they can look into as most of the food is adult friendly. Bill out is fast, they do add a 10% service charge. They accept all major credit cards. I will be back to try their...
