We had lunch at this place on a sunday. We had no choice bec parking on all establishments were full. And i remember watching food bloggers’ review so we decided why not gove it a try.
Upon entering, you will be greeted by a humid place with only a wall fan functioning. Tiles are cracked and wobbly when you step on it and A small spread of maki, curry, soup, steamed gyoza, kani salad and yakisoba. Eveything doesnt taste like it was freshly made. Theres a live cockroach inside the kani salad. And spotted 2 more crawling on the table. Take note the kani salad had a cover on it.
The meats and seafood will be cooked upon request as no griller is available for d.i.y. We only had 1 serving of tempura(small) grilled salmon belly(so-so), scallops, oyster tempura, beef and wagyu (rubbery) and karaage (which has strands of hair mixed into the batter i guess) 🤮
We couldnt wait to get out the place so we asked for the bill, (they dont allow discounts for pwd bec their rate is “discounted” already) it was an “eww” experience for all of us actually, for all that we experienced and had, i think this place might...
Read moreFood was okay. The chashu ramen was waaaay too sweet. The beef teriyaki Don was also too sweet. The Kani bacon skewers were good though - but who doesn't love bacon? Finally, the takoyaki with octopus was tasty with a toasty outside, but I found the middle to be a bit too runny for my taste. We did get an additional order of the takoyaki because we were so hungry. The takoyaki combo with milk tea is a good deal too, but just make sure to ask for less sweet on the milk tea if you're not a big fan of sugary drinks like me.
Bonus points for the arcade machine by the counter for some retro games! Great way to have fun while waiting the 20minutes for your takoyaki to cook....
Read moreTakoyaki tastes good but I find it overcooked .Not the best but definitely not the worst. Good thing it has real octopus unlike most takoyaki joints or restos i've been to. The takoyaki sauce is too sweet and just drizzled a little so when I ate the half of takoyaki, I don't have any more sauce on the other half. We ordered katsudon and chicken teriyaki and both are somewhat lacking in flavor. Didn't serve with Japanese rice given its price ❌(almost same katsudon price in Happon Ramen House in Maginhawa and they have jap...
