Shokudo Banawe is a hidden gem for Japanese food lovers in the Banawe area. This restaurant offers an authentic dining experience with its delicious food, generous portions, and calming ambiance. Whether you’re craving hearty Japanese meals or sushi, Shokudo delivers both in quality and presentation.
One thing that really stood out during my visit was their big serving sizes, making it excellent value for money. Every dish felt satisfying, and their portions are perfect for sharing or for anyone with a big appetite.
I ordered the Chicken Teriyaki Bento, which exceeded my expectations. The chicken was cooked to perfection—tender, juicy, and coated in a flavorful teriyaki sauce that had the right balance of sweetness and savoriness. The bento set was not only filling but also came with a serving of miso soup. The soup was warm and rich, with a beautifully balanced flavor that was soothing and comforting—an excellent way to start the meal.
I also tried the Tamago Maki, which was a delightful treat. The slightly sweet and fluffy tamago paired wonderfully with the soy sauce, enhancing its authentic flavor. The generous serving made it even more enjoyable, and you could really taste the freshness and quality of the ingredients in every bite.
Another highlight was the complimentary tea served while waiting for the food. It was aromatic and refreshing, adding a calming touch to the overall dining experience. Sipping on a warm cup of tea while enjoying the restaurant’s cozy ambiance made the wait feel relaxing and enjoyable.
From the large portions to the authentic flavors, Shokudo Banawe truly excels in providing a memorable dining experience. The presentation of the food, the quality of the ingredients, and the thoughtful gestures like complimentary tea show their commitment to making customers feel valued.
I highly recommend Shokudo Banawe to anyone looking for authentic Japanese cuisine. With their big servings and flavorful dishes, it’s a must-visit restaurant in the area, perfect for casual meals, special occasions, or even just a relaxing dining experience. Their menu offers a wide variety of options, so there’s something for everyone to enjoy. I’ll definitely be coming back to try more of...
Read moreOrdered 2 Shoyu Ramen and 1 order of Ebi Tempura.
Overall the Shoyu tasted very smooth and salty, as a soy sauce-based ramen should, but not too overpowering. The portion size was good for the price point.
Ebi Tempura was also great. The outside was very flaky and the shrimp itself was also huge. The menu says 5 pieces, but they gave us 6 so we could split them evenly 🥺
The only downside was the Chashu pork in the ramen was quite tough. Not like a pork chop tough, but too tough for a ramen. The thickness may have been one factor as to why it was so tough. Though a thick slice in the ramen is good, it wasn't nearly as tender as I thought it should be for Chashu in ramen.
Overall a great experience! The ambiance was really good, not too crowded at the time we went (around 6:30 PM on a weekday), and the servers were very accommodating and timely...
Read moreThe place was nice and accessible. The ambience of this place is quite good. During our stay here we ordered two sets of bento after a few minutes our order had arrived but while eating we've noticed that the rice was cold as ice so after a couple of minutes we called the attention of the food and beverage staff so we told her about the rice and immediately she went inside the kitchen to ask the chef about the rice then she came back and apologized and she insisted to change our bento but we said no need to change it.So far the staff of this restaurant are all polite, respectful, responsible and attentive and furthermore their food here are all good...
