After attending Sunday Mass, we decided to visit Rolling Panda Unlimited Hotpot & Grill and invited Ron since he was nearby. With the rainy season, we all craved hotpot, and luckily this place was close to all of us. The interior is filled with panda-themed designs, the seats were comfortable, and the space was well laid out.

We availed their: 'Unli Hotpot' for (₱699) / You may select three soup base which was perfect for our group size.

  1. Soup: Traditional Spicy Strong heat with a numbing and tingling sensation, balanced with savory and salty notes. Good for spicy food lovers, but it can overpower mild ingredients. Best paired with strong-tasting meats and tofu.

  2. Soup: Three Delicacies Light, savory, and clean with strong umami from a mix of proteins including seafood. Best for those who prefer a subtle broth that complements the ingredients.

  3. Soup: Mushroom Mild, slightly sweet, and earthy. Great for those who enjoy natural, earthy flavors. Pairs well with vegetables and meats. meats.

  4. Meat: Angus beef and US beef belly The Angus was tender, juicy, and on the leaner side. The US beef was soft and slightly chewy but turns rubbery if overcooked.

  5. Seafood: Crab Stick Even after soaking in the broth, it didn’t soften or unravel. Likely contains too many binding agents.

  6. Vegetables: Corn and Taro sticks Corn slices were sweet and absorbed the broth well. Taro stick portions were generous and tasted great.

  7. Flavor Balls: Mozzarella cheese ball and Lobster ball Best left in the broth to soak up flavor. Mozzarella melts fully over time—mild, creamy, and milky. Lobster balls were firm and bouncy. Serving sizes were inconsistent.

  8. Snacks: Chicken Popcorn and Fries Chicken popcorn was crispy, juicy, and bite-sized. Fries were lightly salted and came with ketchup.

  9. Beverages: Plum Juice / Initial serving was watered down and bland, but later ones were better—slightly sweet.

  10. Dipping Sauce: Rolling Classic/Special or DIY The special was richer than the classic. Both had a clean, nutty, mellow base. The satay sauce was underwhelming compared to other places.

  11. Complimentary Dessert: Chilled Taho Soft taho with red beans as sweetener. The combo of silky taho and crumbly red beans might not be for everyone

Rolling Panda Unlimited Hotpot & Grill holds up well against the competition and might even be a favorite for some. Their beef quality is better than others we've tried. The staff can be called using a button at the side of the table, but orders can take a while and sometimes need follow-up. The main downside is the limited parking and its location on a busy road.

Verdict: Hindi babalikan, but worth...

Disappointing experience at Rolling Panda Unlimited Hotpot & Grill

Deceptive pricing especially for senior citizens: current published rate for weekday lunch CANNOT be used for senior discount (p599 for hotpot only). The discount only applies to their dinner / weekend rate (p699). Senior discount computation will be based on p699 should they wish to avail it during weekday lunch. According to them, p599 is already discounted rate. NOWHERE in their published rates do they specify that this is a discounted rate. Moreover, this “discounted rate” is not registered under DTI (RA 7394), preventing establishments from deceiving customers that their rates are “already discounted”. Happy 1st anniversary to them. Unfortunately, their one day promo (for April 3) is even misleading. The discount they are offering can only be availed for the p699 rate (which is only for April 3, 4pm onwards). Again, NOWHERE in their promotional materials (social media or even physical posters at the place) was this communicated. Customers dining in for lunch will be denied of this promo. Several customers dining during our stay have been complaining the same thing.

Deceptive pricing for dining seniors/PWDs is the only issue. Food was great as always (as I have been here several times, without an accompanying senior), which saved the rating from...

We decided to try this because of good reviews and advertisements. We went here before 8pm, they were open until 11. Unfortunately we did not have reservation so we asked the guard on duty (who was receiving customers) if we can be accommodated. He did not give exact time but ensured that there are tables for walk-ins that would be vacant in a while (since maximum time should be 2 hours). We went inside and waited until past 9pm but still no table was available (take note that we asked staff if there are tables that will be due after 2 hours and they did not give an answer). Anyway, we asked what will happen since we won't be able to consume 2 hours before closing time and we were very surprised that the staff suggested that we order everything one time to maximize our payment since their last call for order is at 10:30. Imagine, we waited more than an hour, and we were told there will be vacant tables soon but didn't know the exact time so it seems customers have unlimited time to eat and then we will be on a rush if we will push through. Ending, we took a grab to Jiang Nan in Hemady (24 hours open) and their services were superb. Did not wait that long despite the queue since they were really organized. So overall, this Rolling Panda sucks in customer service and organization. Do not eat here if you don't have...

When my friend and I arrived, there was a short queue of people. We were 5th on the list and got inside in an hour or so. It was my first time so I let my friend (who frequented the place) pick which to get. We opted for the hot pot and grill option since some items are only available for grilling. For the soup bases, we got the original, mushroom, and chicken. The original broth tasted clean and a bit herbal. The mushroom broth has a mild earthy flavor. The chicken broth was my least favorite, it's taste is reminiscent of Tinola. We were asked to pick our orders of hotpot and grill items from a checklist which they get as you place an order. We got the ball assortment which had 3 of each kind. The tofu skins we ordered were a lot- what's in the picture below is just one order. They had few selections for vegetables (compared to Jiang Nan). My friend got the enoki beef(or bacon) rolls-which are surprisingly better when cooked in the broth rather than grilled. They also have cheesy scallops for the grill which I liked. They have a wide array of ingredients for sauce making too. They even have korean sauces and even sauces for satay. For dessert, we got served taho. Overall, a good experience here.
