our order: dimsum: pork and shrimp dumpling - good pork spareribs - ok chicken feet - ok
entree: fish fillet with picked vegetable - not good hot and sour pork tripe -taste exactly as fish fillet with pickled vegetable but with pork innards instead of fish -not good lamp in claypot - gamey, sauce is ok, lamb meat texture needs to improve, skin is still rubbery
ambiance is very good however am not happy with the floor manager. (the chubby chinese lady with short hair). we entered 5:30pm there were still not much customers around (3 table including us)
now with the floor manager my lolo is speaking in chinese asking about the fish fillet managers reply (in tagalog): dory lang po yan (its unusual for a restaurant manager to have degrading remarks on their menu)
my lolo asked for a pen so he can write his order on a piece of paper managers reply (isa lang pen ko eh mawawalan ako ng gagamitin na pen)
we ordered hot and sour pork tripe and we were given pork tripe with pickled vegetable we inquired if we were given something else manager's reply (ganyan talaga hot and sour pork tripe namin) - this looks exaclty and tastes exactly with the fish fillet with pickled vegetables, they should have named this pork tripe with pickled vegetables its very misleading. even the manager thought our food was the fish fillet with pickled vegetables.
in summary: manager was has absolutely no PR skills no greeting, unhappy look strange does not want us to borrow her pen even if we are going to order gave degrading remarks on their fish fillet failed at defending their menu
failed at menu naming (very misleading)
hot and sour pork tripe does not look hot&sour. sauce tastes and looks exactly like fish fillet with pickled vegetable. FAIL managers explanation - SUPER FAIL
maybe next time we will order other menu and have a different server then our experience...
Read moreI wasn’t quite expecting the hanging lamps and plants from the ceiling of Sha Tin Courtyard. Honestly, I liked them.
The upside is that ornaments lighten the ''feel'' of the place. The downside is that there more hidden places for the small creatures we hate the most: insects. You see, the many decors suspended in the air make the whole dining area the playground for these crawling and flying pests. I myself almost killed two but they were just too fast for me.
Now, before we lose our appetite, let’s talk about the food served.
But let it be clear that not all invitees were able to sample everything. Why? One, there were just too many viands. Second, we (the bloggers) were given enough food but not enough PER DISH. Third, they were just too much dishes that even the lady-supervisor was getting mixed up as she explains each one.
Now, the food (only the ones that reached our table). Of all dishes served, it was the Radish Cake, Pork Siomai, Fried Rice, Lechon Macao, Pata Bihon, Duck Fruit that stood out. They were excellent. So were the Pigeon and the Pipa Duck. Both were presented beautifully, seasoned perfectly and both were bursting with flavors. Masterpieces, I say.
However, the service was far from being a masterpiece. Some male servers were slow (brain activity AND physical movement), some brain-dead and the rest, plain vapid. One thing is sure, majority of them needs a massive refresher course on basic service and menu familiarization (or they can go the easier way out, you know what I mean).
Generally, it was pleasant affair. Aside from some oversight, a few airheads and some pesky insects, it was still, although a universe away from the...
Read moreBooked a coupon with Eatigo at this place, upon arriving at the reception, we notified the receptionist that we have a booking under Eatigo and immediately she rolled up her eyes as she checked her phone for the booking.
The coupon was 50% off for 2, since we’re 4, 2 of us booked separately to maximize the discount. They immediately told us we cannot sit together, we said what’s the difference, anyway the bill will be split. They quickly said that it’s their policy that 2 different reservations should not sit together. After that they said that we should also order separately since we are under 2 reservations. We complied. So our first 2 orders came, we ate the food and immediately they came to our table and said, sorry, but you cannot share the food. To this we were shocked, they were about to say that we breach the policiy so we had to pay everything in full, before that happened we immediately cut them off and said we’ll just pay for the first 2 orders and we left. Upon leaving we checked our Eatigo and they flagged us as “no show”.
Don’t visist here, they discriminate on people trying their food under coupons, but still retain their offers on Eatigo. They state their policies one by one to catch you off guard, such...
