I organized a get-together with some friends, including my partner, in Quezon City. We headed to Banawe, where Suffuse Snack House was our first stop. I’d seen the place before when passing by and heard some food enthusiasts mention it. The interior is nothing special, a bit cramped, with wobbly tables, but they make up for it with their affordable dishes.
We ordered the following:
Suffuse Fried Rice (₱109) The flavors came together well, with a slight smokiness. It wasn’t too sweet or salty. The serving size felt like 1.5 to 2 cups of rice, which is good for the price.
Orange Chicken (₱329) Sweet and tangy, with well-cooked, juicy chicken. The flavor is good but can be overwhelming if you don’t have something to cleanse your palate.
Cereal Fish (₱349) Crunchy cereal coating paired well with the tender fish. It had too much cereal topping. / A spicy or tangy dip could elevate the dish.
Soyed Wonton (₱189) The wontons were meaty and went well with the soy and sesame oil mix. The chili dip was very spicy, which my partner enjoyed.
Laksa Sampler (₱149) / Decent but nothing special. It was a creamy, spicy laksa.
Bacon Wrapped Sausage (₱159) The milk bread was crispy outside and fluffy inside. The sauce on top of it had a tangy-kick. The bacon-wrapped sausage bursted with umami flavor and wasn't burnt.
[Chachago] Brown Sugar Milk Tea (₱130) / My partner’s favorite drink. You pay for it separately, though it’s sold inside. Chewy boba with customizable sweetness, which is a plus.
[Promo] Panda Milk Tea (₱89) Part of a rainy day/weekend promo, making it a great deal at 89 pesos. / The mix of mini black and white pearls may not suit everyone; I prefer regular-sized black pearls.
Suffuse Snack House delivered on its dishes, especially the Soyed Wonton, Orange Chicken, and Cereal Fish. Despite the competition in the area, the restaurant deserves the long lines we saw forming. Most of the dishes could easily feed 2-3 people, depending on...

Read moreGood place for tasty (and value for money) Taiwanese snacks and Chinese quick meals, such as noodles and rice bowls. The dishes were well-seasoned without the heavy taste of MSG, as we didn't feel overly thirsty afterward. The char siu dry noodles were reminiscent of the ones found in Singapore hawker centers, which was a pleasant surprise. The soyed wontons were well-prepared, with each wonton evenly coated in sauce. The cereal prawns were fantastic, offering a nice crunch and rich flavor. The braised beef noodles had a comforting, homestyle taste. The Suffuse chicken poppers had a unique flavor, combining sweet and slightly spicy elements.
The place is relatively small with limited seating and parking, but it's suitable for casual dining. Accommodating staff too which I appreciate despite the casual dining set-up. It's also convenient that you can order from Chachago while you're there.
Overall, we were very satisfied with everything we ordered and plan to return.
