Came here just this lunch time. I think I haven't been so irritated and disappointed in a restaurant yet as I've been with Cafe Rizal. Food did not match its price. We were 7 but we sat in a table for 6. 4 came earlier and were provided with table settings. 3 came later, which includes me and only two were provided with table setting, I was the one with none. So I was fine with it, mind you I'm usually VERY VERY patient when it comes to servers especially when I notice that the place is full of people. But in this case, people who arrived later than us were given table settings and I had none. My cousin asked for a table setting for me at least three times to theee different servers, and till the end of our meal? None came. Six of us ordered first including me, and one ordered when he came back as she was still deciding what to have. The last one who ordered, interval of around 10 minutes, got her dish first. My cousin who ordered beef ribs (and who was warned that it will take around 40 mins), came second. Salad and burgers came last. And mine? The waiter said I didn't order. I assumed he got my order because he looked at me and nodded. But if he didn't, my defense was, why did he not repeat the orders? I've never felt so neglected in a restaurant in my whole life than this. And the best part? He did not apologize. He just asked me if I want to push through with my order and I said no, since everyone else was almost done with their meals. He just said, "Ok po" and walked away.

If there was a zero star rating, that would have...

Before we decided to fully explore the entirety of the Pinto Art Museum in its finest, we took a short trip to Café Rizal and ate there! ✨

I'll start with the staff; they were extremely kind and guided both me and my mother inside! They were quite attentive to our orders and made sure to look after us as we waited for our meals to arrive! I loved the service they provided for us, and there were quite a lot of them who were roaming around the area.

Now moving on to the interior, it made me feel as if I'm in Europe, and I appreciate the dim lighting! The interior seen in Café Rizal cannot be compared to just any cafe on the side, and you could tell that they put great care into the decorations that I have witnessed during my time there! 💞

As for the food, I wouldn't say it's affordable, and it could be quite pricey at the same time, but thankfully, we didn't have any horror stories about the meals we ordered, and they were quite delicious! My mother and I ordered chicken-related meals; we loved them and finished everything! 👏

All in all, we highly enjoyed the fancy ambience the cafe had, the amazing dishes we ordered, and the kind staff we encountered! However, this is not a place we would constantly frequent as it is inside the Pinto Art Museum, where you have to pay for the entrance fee, and the pricing for the food and drinks may not be affordable for most. If you can look past those two factors, then why not give Café...

After a couple of hours going through the different galleries of Pinto Art Museum, I was looking forward to a good meal. However, after quickly browsing their menu, I realized that there was very limited options for plant-based eaters like me.

Their soups all have cream in it, thair appetizers are all topped with something I cannot eat and their main courses and even sandwiches had meat in them. I confirmed from one of the servers whether they had something vegetarian and he told me that they only had the truffle fried and some salad as an option. I let out a sigh of disappointment and expressed to the server how famished I was feeling.

After ordering the fries and salad and a watermelon shake, the server (sorry, I totally forgot his name) got back to me and told me how badly he felt that I am not able to order any of their main courses. So he told me that he can actually ask the cook to tweak the recipe of one of their pasta dishes for me. Instead of putting meat, they will just substitute it with black olives or something.

My initial disappointment with their lack of vegetarian option faded away because I really appreciated the server's gesture of helping me find a main course for myself. The good customer more than made up for their non-inclusive menu options though I highly recommend that thay add at least 3 more selection of main courses that are suitable for purely plant-based...

Great ambiance although pretty similar to Cafe Dionysus which is also inside Pinto Art Museum. Has a cozy and relaxing vibe. Service is a hit-or-miss, some of the waiters are attentive but some completely forget about your order. We tried following up an order and we got charged double for the watermelon shakes even though a previous waiter has taken our order before. Food is okay but a little overpriced considering what it is. Pizza is good and the pasta meals are flavorful. The fruit shakes were really made from fresh fruit. Overall an okay experience and pretty convenient since it’s inside the museum grounds. The seafood pasta has a lot of shellfish, out of everything we ordered this was worth its price.

We stopped by here one afternoon to take a break from all the walking inside the museum so we only ordered light menu items including pizza, coffee and tamarind shake. They were all good except the coffee, which was served with only a small serving of creamer. Place is named after Jose Rizal, Philippines' National Hero but unfortunately, one part of the restaurant lacked anything related to Rizal. Not a dealbreaker though. I just wished that ventilation was better.
