CocoRico Siquijor Bar and Restaurant — Restaurant in San Juan

I honestly don’t understand all the high ratings (4 to 5 stars) for Cocorico. My experience was far from that, and I walked away disappointed. I ordered the Roasted Garlic Chicken for ₱430 (around $7.30) at around 11 AM, expecting a satisfying meal. Instead, the portion was really small for the price. The chicken itself tasted good, but when you think about the value, it is simply not worth it. Would I pay ₱430 for it again? Definitely not. They are clearly overcharging and overpricing their dishes compared to what they actually serve.

The atmosphere also left a lot to be desired. The place is an open-air setup, which sounds nice in theory, but in reality it is nothing special. The only redeeming feature is that it is next to White Sand Beach, and that is really the only charm it has. Beyond that, there is nothing impressive about the location or ambiance to justify the steep prices.

The service was another huge letdown. The server never offered service water, and when we finally asked, it felt like an afterthought. She was also nowhere to be seen most of the time, which made the whole dining experience frustrating. For a place charging premium prices, you would expect at least attentive and professional service, but this was far from the case.

Overall, I would strongly suggest skipping Cocorico. Yes, the food tastes decent, but the portions are far too small for the price, the service is inattentive, and the ambiance is average at best. There are plenty of restaurants around the island that offer both good food and a proper dining experience at more reasonable prices. Kind and smiling staff Big portions Good presentation of the product Price, quality to quantity is good I had the Barbecue Chicken Pizza and it was big like a car wheel :) and so delicious, the Pizza bread had also a very good quality (like European standard). Update: I ordered second time the Pizza and it was again very delicious! Dining with an Ocean view, here you can have +In the evening a light breeze blows its very pleasant

The seats are completely from wood, so after a time it feels uncomfortable to sit and if you think about you must wait for your Pizza more than 30 minutes it's not funny The waiters are inattentive they have not the eye to catch the guests. First time it need 10 minutes until someone came to me for only to give me the menu. Second time again the same attitude, but this time I go to the bar and ask if they are open or closed. The food is nice no problem but until my Pizza arrived me another group ordered after me, get their food, they eaten and gone already and the restaurant bar was not full max 5 guests, that's not acceptable.

o After the same service by second time I downgraded the stars even the food is nice and there is a nice view.

So... I own a Shakey's Pizza in the U.S.... And after seeing the reviews for the BBQ Chicken Pizza... (or at my Shakey's Texas BBQ... one of my favorites)... Had to give it a try... Hershey, Joshua, Yanna, and Jireh were great... A little slow on the greeting, and service at first, but they came on strong, and at the end especially Josh)... were great... anyways .. o.k... so we came at about 5, and when Hershey made it to us she was great... explaining how the buy one, take one for 50% off worked .. so we ended up having a couple drinks(long Island, and pina Colada(450peso for both... Not bad!)... and the drinks were decent... so we ended up with another round... So .. The Pizza... Very nice!... the crust was very nice... I think maybe wood fired... didn't research enough to know... the pizza overall... yes.. I would order again... nice flavor... I would probably request a little more BBQ sauce, but the chicken chunks were nice and tender...very good.. and the cheese also... on point. Overall... Well Done guys! ... Will be back when we cross over and visit again later this year! (P.S... Your pizza rating is a solid 7.6... Nice!) Atmosphere is fine...
