Kimpura, the esteemed Japanese restaurant, has recently found a new home in Greenhill Shopping Center's newly constructed buildings. Situated on the ground floor, the restaurant continues to attract a steady stream of patrons, even though the new layout appears somewhat more cramped compared to its previous location. As we settled in for our dining experience, we opted for a regular table instead of the teppanyaki option. The menu remained as enticing as ever, featuring an extensive selection of Japanese delicacies, ranging from delectable sushi rolls and aromatic noodles to flavorful bentos and sizzling teppanyaki creations. The service at Kimpura was a mixed bag, sometimes ensuring that our needs were met throughout the evening. However, there was a minor setback in terms of the food delivery, which seemed a bit slow. Nevertheless, the culinary offerings did not disappoint. Our order comprised the mouthwatering agedashi tofu, savory okonomiyaki, delightful unagi bento, and refreshing mango imitation crab salad. Among them, the tempura stood out for me the most especially the ebi tempura. Its big, fluffy, piping hot, and perfectly fried. The return of Kimpura to Greenhills brings a wave of excitement and satisfaction to local residents and visitors. Its presence adds a touch of authenticity and diversity to the dining scene, allowing Japanese cuisine enthusiasts to relish their favorite flavors without having to venture far. Whether it's a casual outing or a special occasion, Kimpura's revival in Greenhill Shopping Center is a welcome addition that caters to the discerning palates of Japanese food aficionados, making it a culinary destination worth exploring.

We had such a lovely experience at Kimpura Japanese Restaurant in Greenhills. The staff went above and beyond to make our visit special — especially in assisting and making my 90-year-old grandfather feel comfortable and appreciated. He ordered the Gindara, and it was absolutely fresh and beautifully prepared. The flavor was so authentic and delicate that it actually jogged his memory — he said it reminded him of why it had always been his favorite fish. He finished every bite, which truly warmed our hearts. I had the Tekka Don with an extra order of Tuna Sashimi, and I can honestly say it’s one of the best and freshest tuna servings you can find in the Philippines. The texture, cut, and taste were perfect — melt-in-your-mouth good. We also shared the Yakitori Platter, which was incredible — tender, juicy, and cooked just right with that slight char that gave each skewer so much flavor. Overall, it was a memorable meal filled with warmth, great food, and wonderful service. Thank you, Kimpura, for making it such a special day for our family — especially for my grandfather.

Kimpura used to be seen as the highest end Japanese restaurant. Though the years though, Japanese has become more common and maybe its stature as the gold standard has taken a hit with much better offerings out there. Don't get me wrong: Kimpura isn't bad. It just doesn't stand out anymore in terms of uniqueness, freshness and quality of it's offerings. And for the prices they charge and the reputation they have, you just expect more. Anyway, stopped by for lunch and got a bunch of stuff. The standouts were the complementary small fish (great salty sweet taste), the cold soba (nice texture to the noodles) and the unagi california maki (this dish I'd come back for with its great combination of flavours). Service was efficient. Space is packed but well laid out and has that old-school elegance. Didn't try the teppanyaki so maybe that's where Kimpura's glory days still live.

Kimpura Restaurant offers a memorable dining experience, especially for those who enjoy Japanese cuisine. With its warm, inviting ambiance, it provides both traditional and contemporary elements that set it apart. The restaurant’s signature feature is its teppanyaki grill, where skilled chefs prepare meals right before your eyes, adding an interactive and theatrical touch to your meal.

The menu at Kimpura is extensive, featuring a wide selection of fresh sushi, sashimi, and perfectly seasoned grilled meats. The teppanyaki dishes, such as the tender Wagyu beef and seafood, are cooked to perfection with a delightful blend of flavors. The chef's attention to detail and expertise in presentation is evident in every dish.

Service is another highlight, with attentive and knowledgeable staff ensuring a seamless experience from start to finish. The portions are generous, making it a great place for both intimate dinners and larger groups.

While prices are on the higher side, the quality of the food and the unique dining experience make it worth the investment. Whether you're a sushi lover or craving expertly cooked teppanyaki, Kimpura delivers a consistently high-quality dining experience that leaves a...

We have been visiting the beautiful Philippines for the past month. We have traveled to several areas in this country and it has been a fabulous trip! We are heading home tomorrow . So we decided to take our family to a Japanese Hibachi restaurant. We looked at the listings online and saw Kimpura. It was one that mentioned hibachi grill. We made it to the restaurant and waited for them to open at 17:30. There were 2 families in front of us also waiting. When the restaurant opened my wife was asked if we had a reservation . The restaurant was practically empty. They said hibachi needs a reservation. So we settled on a regular table, disappointed. We ended up sitting at the table for 35 minutes before anyone took a drink or food order. When our food arrived we couldn’t help but notice the empty hibachi tables. The service was very slow and part of our order never arrived. So we received our bill and saw the item was on the bill. Once it was corrected I paid it. On the way out we still saw the empty hibachi tables. So we gave it 2 stars. The food was alright, not great. The service the slowest we have had while in this trip. Overall...
