Chill beach spot with great views — but limited menu at SHAKA Siquijor 🙂🙁

This café (or restaurant) is in a really nice location, right by the beach with lots of seating options and beautiful sea views. It’s a great place to relax, enjoy the breeze, and take in the island vibe.

The café is self-service at the counter, and unfortunately, many of the items I tried to order from the menu weren’t available. A dude in front of me simply left the location disappointed at some point during his order. In the end, I went with a smoothie bowl. When it was served, they mentioned that one of the toppings was out of stock. I don’t want to be too critical — I imagine that on an small island like Siquijor, supply issues can happen from time to time.

Taste-wise, the smoothie bowl was okay — more like semi-frozen fruit sorbet than a creamy bowl, but still refreshing.

The crowd when we visited was mostly Travel Kiddos/Hipster, with a bit of a ‚see and be seen‘ atmosphere. 💁🏼‍♀️🤳🏼

A fun extra: lots of small puppies wandering around, definitely a highlight alongside the beachfront setting. 🐶

All in all, I would have given it a 3.5 if this option had been available. If you’re looking for a laid-back spot to hang out by the sea, SHAKA Siquijor is worth a stop — just don’t expect the full menu to always...

Went to Shaka with the intention to take sunset pictures and then have dinner after. At 6:00 PM we approached the drink sellers to order and they told us they were preparing to close already, but the owner said "pwede pa" (it's still possible) and let my friend and I order 2 Biscoff Lattes for take out, but then our order came in Dine In glasses so we approached them to correct it yet we received attitude for their mistake. We apologized for the inconvenience because we understand that correcting their mistake would take them more time to finish closing, but they called our apology "scripted" and muttered something in Bisaya. I don't know about you, but this is not how you treat customers who paid, were apologetic, and were ready to order somewhere else if you hadn't told us it was possible. The place is beautiful, but the staff is unbearable. The tambays nearby were catcalling us too.

1/5 for your staff. +1 for this cute dog. If you're a potential customer reading this, go to Salagdoong Beach or Paliton...

First of all, this is a vegan place. So my mistake was that I didn't check. lol

I am not a vegan, but I love what we ordered. We got the banana loaf and chocolate muffin.

I can tell by the tastes they're really vegan. The muffing has a certain hint in the taste of something I cannot pinpoint. It was not bad at all... It was just not my type of taste for like 100%.

The place is so relaxing. It gets colder as the evening approaches because it's an open space.

I loveeeee the ambiance! I would always come back for that firstly.

There were not many people when we got there and it was Sunday.

Payment options - cash only. Too bad, no credit card.

The comfort room is clean.

There are more than enough tables for diners. BTW they don't have meals. They're all for snacks or nibbling.

They have good WiFi and a lot of outlets to charge your gadgets, especially if you're working on a laptop. I even think this is the perfect spot to work!

OVERALL, I was satisfied with my experience here and would...
