We had a great time staying at Sea View Resort and Tawhay Restaurant, a cafe and restaurant in Siquijor. Both businesses located across each other are owned by the same owner,Doris, who was so warm, kind and hospitable to accomodate us. The food at Tawhay is really good! You should try their special Beef Randang and Chicken Curry. Our kids especially love the cool milkshakes and halo-halo dessert that had generous portions. The service of the filipino staff is professional, excellent and very warm, always ready with their smiles.
The ambience of the restaurant is so relaxing. I especially love the christian music and verses posted on glassdoors. If you are an introvert like me you will love the quiet airconditioned area with available books to read and the smell of freshly baked goodies.
I highly recommend you to check-in at Sea View Resort Siquijor, located just across it and is situated right in front of the calm white beach sands of San Juan. The beddings are clean and soft, ac worked very well! Perfect for a hot summer and a good comfortable sleep.
The location is very strategic as well. It was just a few minutes away from different eateries and a deli/convenience store complete with all your needs. Small trikes pass by if you plan to commute to other parts of the island.
Best of all, the pacing of life here in Siquijor Province is so laidback and quiet, not crowded. It is so slow and simple, away from noise and commercialism. One can truly find rest and peace.
It is Simplicity, Beauty and Nature at its Best! You will truly marvel at God for His creation as you spend time with Him in this beautiful...
Read moreWell i am truely disappointed… me and my friends went here on valentines day to have a great time. The cafe looked cute and all but as the music started it was so ooud you couldnt understand a word. The next thing was the food.. i am a vegetarian and there was not only anything vegatarian but it wasn’t even possible to order a dalat without the shirmp. Mu friend had to take them and so i got left with less salad instead of switching the shrimp with more salad. Doenst make any sense for me as a cosumer. So nice for my friend bit definitly nit for me because i left the restaurant still beeing hungry and had to pay for the whole meal. However i gave the cafe ander chance 2 days later thinking maybe the breakfast is better (because there were at least some vegetarian options). I wanted to order one of the bowls but then they said none of them are available!! 3 options and none of them available?! Sad. Well i ended up ordering the granola bowl for 280 pesos and well it was the smallest dish i’ve ever seen. My friends ordered pancaces and french toast for the same price and there not only got so puch more but also didn’t hahe to leave the restaurant beeing still hungry. And as we know this is my second time leaving this restaurant beeing still hungry and just disappointed. The service in generel was nice but well not the best. My friend ordered a coffe and it arrived with the food (which also took...
Read moreWe were in Siquijor island for 5 days and ate every single meal here at Tawhay Resto and Cafe! It was that tasty! I think we tried most things on their menu- the food is so so good and their drinks are out of this world.
The coffees, the lemonades, the shakes, fruit smoothies and drinks, the sour (ice blended Calamansi drinks with other fruit) were excellent. All the drinks are generous portions and so so tasty.
The food was excellent as well. We loved the buttered egg floss shrimp, all the pastas, all the burgers and fries, and the Malaysian and Chinese food. The American breakfast were all hearty and huge portions with their bacon, eggs, waffles, pancakes all being super delicious. And I love that their portions are generous!
The place is hip and super friendly staff. I highly recommend this place for anything. As a world traveling American myself, I can say this place is really a gem.
They have board games you can use as some books in the back, so I find it pretty friendly...
