Price, location & beach||Arrived to my beachfront cottage from Tagbilaran in the afternoon & was passed the room keys from the young gal staff. Left soonafter via motorbike to my Siquijor friend's fishing village. Room had a balcony with a big table & bench just facing the beach. Only cold water was available for bathing so take a quick bath if it's late in the night. There was a basic fridge, TV,Ceilng Fan, enough power plugs, mini kitchen table(no use for me since i don't cook anyhow). TV has a few English movie channels were relaxation since Siquijor is not a night partying island. If u venture too far from your hotel & end up drunk or high, then it's an issue. As far as my observation, there is not much habal habal or tricycle from the Bars & restaurants at night. You will pretty much have to walk back to your lodging with a powerful flashlight, hitch a ride with passing locals on motorbike?? , pay for your driver tp wait for u.. Basically this is just a Guesthouse with a few cottages right on the Beach in Lala-O. There are no other facilities but you can call the owner if you need to organise any trip or activities. I did arrange through the gal staff, for a morning swim, snorkel at the wonderful Salagdoong Beach that is 50 minutes away. My Tricycle driver , Charles was just resting & waiting(800 php) for me to go back to Palm Village.. Good option for peace lovers as there are no bars or restaurants within 50 metres on either side of the Guesthouse..Will be boring for someone looking to stay out late for a night drink somewhere.....
Read moreIt wasn't the best start as on arrival they said our room wasn't available could we stay down the road for one night, to be fair they would help us get there for free but that was not great as we are a couple with a baby and have to set up a cot. We went and had lunch and when we came back they had managed to sort us out so all was well after that, although it was a bit stressful. ||We love the location, it's brilliant, the sunset is incredible and it's so relaxing. You don't need to go far to find a cool restaurant or bar so you can't fault that at all. The bungalow itself is well made but whoever finished it didn't do such a great job. You don't expect mega high standards for the price, but we were not really able to shower for 4 days, although not a mega problem as you are swimming anyway. The staff are all friendly though and they sent a guy round to look at it for us and it did work for a couple of hours, but it's just a bit of shame. Also, it is clean enough although you will get some bugs in the room which is to be expected.||I would recommend this place for the location and the friendliness of the staff. Just a Few niggles which would only bother people with kids more than people without I'd say. We loved our...
Read moreWhilst the location was nice (right in front of the beach with good sunset game) and the room was spacious, I didn't enjoy the filthy kitchenette and poor attitude from the staff.||Fridge was filthy, with previous guests' unfinished drinks still inside, cutlery was dirty and broken, gas cooker only had one functioning ring and leaked gas. Kitchen sink was gross. Curtain was on an old broom stick resting on two nails in the wall.||Staff are no help with advice on getting back to the ports, they stop understanding English the moment you turn down their overpriced private tricycle. ||Don't appreciate the random local families turning up to use the guests' beach space most evenings.||Wifi was ok, balcony very nice to have. Bikes were 300 for the day (though they tried their luck with 350 at the last minute.)||Air-con and fan both worked well.||Overall, grossly overpriced, given the...
