Rogelios Beach Bar — Restaurant in San Juan

Awful experience. Just awful. My husband ordered pancit and the cabbage was big and when the waitress passed by, he told her about the cabbage. She gave the excuse that it was "their style." LOL. I mean, come on! The quesadilla tasted like pancakes with cheese. But then, I decided to give the resto another chance for breakfast, thinking that it must have been an "off day" but noooooo. I ordered the American breakfast and asked if the sausage was big and the waitress said yes. It wasn't big. It was two tiny pieces, so I guess, we can get a little creative and just put those two together and voila, you have a big piece! LOL. I will not even go into the tale of the salted caramel because that was just icky. It's a good thing our dog appreciated the pancit we all didn't wanna eat so it didn't go to waste.

We were more than ten. They wanted us to pay a "entrance fee" of 100 pesos to swim there, but there were no signs indicating this-not in the entrance, not in the menu. We complained because we overheard them discussing it, which was most likely not part of their policy and was something they just thought of when we arrived. (If this has been part of their policy, better to prepare to pay lol) They then withdrew their statement, so we swam. Later, they explained that there was a "shower fee" that we had to pay if we wanted to use it, not an entrance fee. (We knew what we heard) Also, the service was terrible. Perfect place to eat dinner while watching the sunset. The tables are on the beach and make for a picturesque end to the day. The food portions are very generous for what you are paying. You could probably get slightly cheaper elsewhere but I've struggled to find good sized portions in the Philippines and honestly the food was so tasty and with the size of the portions I came back every day. The breakfasts are also very good. 100% worth coming. They serve both Filipino and international foods. They often have a live band in the afternoon. Overall the vibes were immaculate and I loved this place....
