It's hard to find more passionate and skilled people than the people running this cafe in the entire Philippines.

The Yokoy's Cafe crew definitely shares that passion and expertise with their yummy snacks, carefully crafted drinks, and wide but curated local and international coffee beans and ceremony-grade matcha selections.

On our two trips here in our Bohol trip (so nice, gotta come back twice), we tried their Not A Spanish Latte from their (not-so) secret menu, three servings of Matcha, and some Local Beans for me.

My favorite would be the Civet Coffee beans from Finca de Gabriela. Didn't even know they had Kopi Luwak/Civet Coffee in Bohol. And it's THE BEST COFFEE I've ever tasted in my short time in earth... yet. knocks on wood. It was such a smooth coffee, I did not expect Civet Coffee to be that smooth.

Aside from the coffee, we had a looooooooong talk about the Third Wave Coffee Scene, Sustainability, Coffee Farming, Coffee History, and just nerding out about coffee in general.

If that's what you're looking for and if you're in Bohol, put this in your itinerary and make sure you chat with the baristas.

Oh. Did we mention that they have a coworking space upstairs? And sometimes, they have events there like with Sprout Up Bohol?

I haven't?

Well, I just mentioned...

We searched on Reddit for cafes in Bohol and came across a post with several comments raving about Yokoy’s Cafe. Curious and trusting Reddit recommendations, I suggested to my family that we give it a try.

From the moment we arrived, the cafe welcomed us with a cozy and inviting ambiance. I immediately noticed that their door was covered in stickers—a detail I absolutely loved and appreciated. They also have books that I borrowed.

The owner and his family were incredibly warm and hospitable, treating us like house guests rather than just customers. They served homemade pastries and hearty drinks, all made with care. As we enjoyed our food, we had a lovely chat with them about coffee, their baking process, and other interesting topics.

Also, they have a cat. Super friendly and absolutely adorable.

I highly recommend this cafe. If only we had discovered it on our first day, we would have come back...

This is how a coffee shop should be. Best coffee shop in Bohol, in the top 3 from my 5 month journey around Southeast Asia! A small shop with a homely feel to it, owned by two brothers who are both equally passionate about speciality coffee. They are both super knowledgeable about coffee and happy to share what they know, I spent multiple hours here just chatting and getting to know them both. They have a tonne of high quality coffee available to choose from and are happy to brew them to your preferences. If you like a good pour over and are serious about coffee, you'll fall in love with this place like I did! They also have milk based drinks with oat milk available, which are also great! My partner tried the iced hot chocolate, made with locally sourced chocolate and loved it! Don't miss this...
