Wok it Out Taytay — Restaurant in Taytay

Been wanting to eat here after seeing the nice reviews. Since we live nearby, it was easy to drop by. We decided to go at 3 pm on a weekday to avoid the crowd. The place is in a subdivision but not far from Ortigas Ext. It is airy and has a lot of ceiling fans.

As for the food, I love the Hakaw so much - 8 pcs for P158, it's a steal! Hubby got the Pork Wonton in Chili Oil. I enjoyed the sweet and spicy sauce. The filling tastes good but the resto could have taken it easy on the wrapper. It was quite thick. The Chocolate Lava Xiao Long Bao was also delicious but the wrapper (again) was quite thick and hard. I'm not sure if they were reheated or was exposed to heat for long.

As for the Chow Mien, I have mixed feelings towards this dish. It was not flavorful but I couldn't stop eating it. Quite addictive. Also, I noticed that while some of the noodles were hot, some were not. I guess it was just reheated in the microwave.

I also ordered the Okinawa Black Sugar Milk Tea. It was very sweet but it's okay since by adding more water and ice, it was like having an extra free serving.

The wait staff were attentive and the price was okay too. Overall, I enjoyed our visit and we'll definitely visit again.

Dining here in wok it out Taytay was quite the experience. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The ambiance of the place was also great since the room is well lit and air conditioned. We ordered 7 dishes to try. I’ll rate each one.

Hakaw- 11/10 the shrimp was plump, juicy and the taste was exquisite. There was a perfect balance in flavor. This was the best hakaw I ever had. It was also very affordable for the quality.

Pork XLB - 8.5/10 wish it was more juicy. However, it was worth the price. Could use a bit more flavor to the broth. Good quality.

Salted egg shrimp - 11/10 the balance of the salted egg flavor with the shrimp taste was delicious. It pairs well with rice. Worth the price.

Squid ink fried rice - 8/10 it tasted good and well balanced.

Okinawa brown sugar - 9/10 well balance of the sweet taste and tea flavor.

Pink blossom XLB - 9/10 the white chocolate tasted very sweet but it was still balanced. Worth it for the price

Molten chocolate xiao long bao - 10/10 The chocolate tasted really authentic. Not too sweet and it pairs well with the chewiness of the xlb wrapper.

Overall, we loved the experience and left the restaurant very full and satisfied. Will come again....

2023 We planned to dine in but sadly very crowded place & a long line waiting. It's not ideal to eat here coz it's too many people & we are still in pandemic. Very limited parking area so you need to park somewhere else. I hope they will expand coz it's not good if your customers will just wait too long 😒
