Pasta Miasta — Restaurant in Gdynia

We have been regular customers here for a few years.

We’ve recently tried the new breakfast service. The food is lovely, BUT.. on all 3 occasions we’ve done so the service has been awful.

Let me be specific.

Inflexible - could we sit at the top as it’s busy at the bottom - the top door was open - “no you can’t”. That was it! 5 mins later someone else was seated there.

Another occasion - waited 10 mins for someone to take our order, restaurant had 2 tables occupied at this time. We had to ask in the end.

Our child really wanted the Italian on the islands meal, but he has a problem with eggs. So we asked would they kindly swap the eggs for maybe more beans, sausage or bacon please. “No. It’s not our policy!” What? A policy of not swapping one item, for another item already there? Is that so difficult or disruptive? It just came over as unkind.

I’ll repeat - the food is lovely. However, the service can on occasion be arrogant, and complacent, I suspect as a result of having very good passing trade and being popular.

I also note the tone of their replies to any negative feedback here. Let’s see if the reply to my feedback is conciliatory...

I’m not picky when it comes to food, especially not pasta. However, this was probably the worst pasta I’ve ever had. I ordered a Pollo, which from the description sounded delicious. When it arrived (after 40 minutes) it looked quite sad, and the taste was awful, like a mixture of really sweet and fatty with a touch of sourness. I asked the waiter if it was supposed to taste like that and he said that it should. The chicken tasted like rubber without seasoning. I left almost the entire plate full and when the waiter came to collect it, I told him that I didn’t like it at all, to which he responded “ok”. We weren’t asked if we could be compensated in any way and had to pay full price. We’ll never come back and wouldn’t recommend anyone else to eat there. It’s sad really, because I believe they have potential with homemade pasta and everything. Bede szczera, pokladalam duze nadzieje w tej restauracji jako koneserka makaronów. Boze jak bardzo sie zawiodlam. Makarony same w sobie dobre, czuc ze robione na miejscu i świeże. Sosy podawane z makaronami to jednak porazka. Testowalysmy dwa glowne dania i dwie przystawki - makaron z kurczakiem i szpanakiem poki byl cieply to byl zjadliwy i calkiem dobry. Ale po chwili sos oddzielil sie od tluszczu i wszytsko zaczelo plywac xd nie dalo sie juz tego zjesc z przyjemnością. Kurczak natomiast dobry - soczysty. Makaron Bolognese to byla jednak najwieksza porażka wraz z tatarem. Czuc ze mieso do tatara i do sosu bolonskiego jest takie samo - ma dziwny nienaturalhy ksztalt. Bedac surowe (w tatarze) nie ma totalnie smaku. Nawet konsystencja nie przypomina tatara. Dodatki do tatara rowniez psuja smak - sos majonezowy (bodajze majones nduja) zepsul cala konsystencje i smak tej przystawki. Calej reszty nie bylo za bardzo czuc. Chleb jedynie dobry do przystawki. W sosie bolonskim natomiast ta wolowina smakowala sucho - jak kulki jakiegos kartonu, bez smaku miesa. Ja nawet nie wiem jak to opisac, to mieso dla mnie po prostu smakowalo jak jakas mieszanka, sucha, drętwa, nie wiem.. sos nstomiast byl slony ale nie mial za duzo smaku. Makaron bolognese jest makaronem z sosem miesnym a dodatek pomidorow jest dla podkrecenia smaku. Tu bylo czuc slony sos pomidorowy i kartonowe kulki. Makaron tylko ratowal to danie. Z lepszych rzeczy to drinki i przystawka ktorej nazwy nie pamietam, ale byly to ryzowe kulki z kremem z suszonych pomidorow i mozzarella. One byly naprawde dobre i godne zamowienia. Drinki rownez byly w porzadku jakosciowo i ilosciowo w stosunku do ceny. Niestety nie sadzilam ze mozna tak bardzo zepsuc sos bolonski i tatara. Obsluga mila. Poza jedzeniem wszytsko bylo w porzadku. Za dwie przystawki, dwa drinki i dwa makarony zaplacilysmy lekko ponad 200 zl. Zastanawiam sie przez inne pozytywne opinie czy nasze pozycje ktore wybralysmy byly jednymi z gorszych czy niestety wszytskie dania sa na podobnym poziomie. Ogolnie rzecz biorac nie polecam makaronu...
