Phong Hai — Restaurant in Krakow

Once this was a very tasty and affordable Chinese restaurant, actually bringing together price, taste and portions size. For me personally it was the best in town. But unfortunately not anymore.

It was famous for an amazingly tasty General Tso chicken. Lately, I ordered it twice just to be sure: The sauce isn’t sticky anymore, but quite watery and the famous taste is gone, they clearly exchanged the oyster sauce used for that dish and put way more soya sauce. Portions are also clearly smaller, especially rice and salad are roughly a third what they used to be. I ordered Tom Kha, and honestly speaking could barely taste some coconut. Prices have risen a lot, but the quality diminished.

Overall, it’s not bad, but we won’t visit again, as this is clearly like any other Chinese fast food restaurant, maybe currently even more on the pricier side with regards to quality.

How delicious was the food in this restaurant? I only had a few bites of my order and I already wanted to write a review on Google Maps. Really yummy! It's easy to be fooled by the restaurant's ordinary red decoration in Vietnamese style, but the options of the menu and the quality of food were fabulous, even premium. That kind of contrast was so interesting. The Bun Bo I ordered was full of fresh herbs, crunchy vegetables and delicious stir-fried beef, served with rice noodles in quite huge portion- great value considering the price! The fish soup only available on Friday was also worth a try, however, the flavor could be stronger. Nice service, too. It's a pity I don’t live nearby, otherwise I must be frequenting to dine there. But will definitely go again!

EDIT: Another time I tried the Thursday's special - ramen with duck, which is still delicious and in huge portion. Desserts look...

Doesnt taste like anyone asian has cooked this not much flavouring in the foods atall i asked for beef seaseme which regretfully had a big blonde hair in so i sent back and asked for a chicken pad thai because i didnt want to get the same dish by the time mine came out my partner had a black hair in his food which he also didnt like, i then didnt eat the pad thai because it put me off i asked the staff did they wear hair nets and she said no, which i think they should implent this as health and safety standard!

they took are meals of which had the hairs in which thankful for but we shouldnt have to pay for anything with hairs in anyways
