Unbelievable.
This is allegedly a "vodka bar". They have a few vodkas, mostly just Chopin brand. But if you look at their cocktail menu, there are maybe only 2 vodka cocktails. Then getting attitude ("Why vodka?!" with disdain) for asking for a vodka cocktail at a vodka bar just doesn't make sense. We only asked because he said they had no celery so couldn't make one of the signature vodka cocktails we were interested in.
They also don't want to explain anything about the vodka they do have. They only want to talk to their friends who sit at the bar.
I tried a cocktail from the menu. Everything was sweet, so we asked for other suggestions that weren't sweet. Our server/bartender was so unhelpful. He either has no idea what he's doing or he just didn't want to assist us. He was dismissive and rude. At first, I thought maybe he is just new and a bit shy speaking English, but by the end, it did not seem like that was the reason.
We also had the "vodka tasting" experience after the museum (which I mentioned in my review of that) and that was mediocre and he provided the bare minimum of information and had zero interest in talking to us beyond that. He doesn't care about vodka at all.
He just stopped coming to our table at one point so I had to go up to the bar to order. The girl working there was friendly and seemed to know what she was doing. I asked her to make me a cocktail and she asked what I like, and said no problem. I wish she had been the one serving us instead.
The drinks were dropped off at the table by the guy and he just put them down and walked away, so I have no idea what was actually in my cocktail she made (but it was pretty decent)! Abysmal service from him.
And the cocktails look nothing like the official sophisticated photos the bar has posted here.
The modernist art deco-style design is phenomenal. Absolutely classy and gorgeous. Movies could be filmed there. The space is new, clean, lots of seating, a decent volume level for music so you can chat, everything about the atmosphere is excellent. But the service is atrocious from the guy and spoiled the whole experience badly, and the signature cocktails were not very creative or good. While ambiance is important, if you don't have good cocktails or good service, it's not a good bar. Even average cocktails may seem great if the service makes you feel good. It's basic psychology.
It's a shame because if it had a stronger and more focused cocktail program, it might actually become more popular. It's already located in a less popular area of Kraków and buried in the basement of Fabryczna13 and the prices are fairly high for what you get. Having surly male staff and mid cocktails certainly doesn't help draw people in no matter how sleek the interior design is.
I regret wasting my time...
Read moreUnknowingly spent almost 4h at this bar's counter because of lovely Hubert who introduced the best range of Vodkas to me, alongside other types of alcohol that were amazingly made in Poland and other EU nations as well. Chanced upon this bar as the Vodka Factory was closed; thought it was amazing because of the hospitality, creativity and sincerity behind the craft of each cocktail and explanation of each type of alc (mainly Vodka). Try to catch Hubert, head bartender, while...
