This is suppose to be a Mexican Restaurant but the basic Mexican dishes here are terrible (and that's putting it nicely). The cheese queso dip taste like powdered cheese mixed with water, they dont have grenadine to make a Tequila Sunrise alcoholic beverage or Grand Marnier to make a Top Shelf Margarita and they have a fixed menu which does not allow them to make substitutes on food items i.e. a shrimp quesadilla instead of a steak quesadilla. They don't offer ANY daily drink specials for beer or margaritas nor do they have a Happy Hour.
They are so busy making money from the Americans that they will probably go out of business within months once this last major project is completed within the next 12 months....they need to think long-term and create a Feedback Form for Customers to give them more feedback so they survive the storm which lies ahead. I'm fed up with the bad food!! and had to...
Read moreTruly I wasn't a fan of the food. I had the chicken mole empanadas to start, which sounded amazing; they were not. They were dry and I don't even know if they had any mole sauce mixed into the meat at all. The chicken texture was as if it it was ground, almost like a pate. I had ordered the shrimp fajitas for my main, which was also lacking. The shrimp seemed like they had been boiled first and had almost no flavor to them. Lastly all the salsas I had ordered with my food were also sadly lacking. The salsa fesca tasted like a cheap American spaghetti sauce. The beef tacos were the only decent part of my meal and I think thats being courteous. As someone with Mexican heritage I thought this place was lacking in some serious direction. I will say the service and atmosphere of the...
Read moreI have eaten at this restaurant a number of times over the last year. The food has always been superior. Tonight, I went in for an early dinner. After sitting down, in a 30% occupied restaurant, I was approached by a waitress who asked if I had a reservation. I told her no. Then came the awkward part. She clearly didn't want to seat a single patron, and it was clear in her voice and gestures. I alleviated her awkwardness by saying that I was leaving. She made no gesture to keep me in the restaurant. This will be my last visit to Prohibido, and I will be discussing this with my colleagues who...
