Dear All,
I feel a strong urge to share my experience at this truly exceptional place.
A bit of context: I was staying at a 5-star hotel in Sopot, complete with its own Michelin-starred restaurant. You'd expect top-tier service, right? Unfortunately, when my family and I tried to get dinner, they couldn’t find the time to serve us. Imagine having hungry kids and being turned away at a place that prides itself on luxury. That’s not what I’d call five-star service.
So, I turned to Google Maps, found a nearby restaurant with an impressive 4.8 rating, and called L’idillio. A kind lady answered almost immediately and spoke perfect English. She was polite, eager to help, and quickly accepted my order, promising it would be ready in 30 minutes.
I had enough time to walk there — it took me just 17 minutes. When I arrived, she welcomed me at the entrance and let me know the order was nearly ready. Just four minutes later, I was leaving with seven beautifully packed dishes, including mains and desserts.
What amazed me even more was what I saw inside. The kitchen was open, and I watched just two men working in complete harmony, like a perfectly synchronized duo. It was inspiring to see them cooking with such energy, passion, and joy.
Now to the highlight: the food. Back at the hotel, we opened the boxes and started tasting — and it was mind-blowing. Everything was incredibly flavorful, simple, and perfectly prepared. The duck leg was juicy and tender. The octopus — soft, tasty, and not masked by overpowering sauces. The tiramisu? Extraordinary. Not overly sweet, with a hint of citrus and fresh berries on top.
We were stunned by the quality. This place doesn’t just deserve a 4.8 rating — it honestly deserves a Michelin star. Maybe more than one.
Thank you, L’idillio, for turning our disappointing evening into a memorable one. Your work, passion, and hospitality made a...

We returned for another special lunch and were treated to the same wonderful food, wine and service as before. Only one tiny polite suggestion - which actually applies to almost every restaurant I’ve visited in Poland: please wait for everyone at the table to finish eating before clearing. Minor detail but it would make the excellent and friendly service even that little bit more...
Read moreProbably the best meal we have had in Sopot. Waitress was very pleasant and friendly. We were a party of 5 and had booked a table earlier in the day. All of us were impressed with our individual choice of food. Menu on the website has an English version and they have the same in the restaurant itself. Lovely atmosphere. Great food. Will go back again on any future visits to Sopot. Cost per person includes starters, main courses, deserts and all drinks ( beers, wine x 2 bottles,...
