Restaurant with beautiful interior and unique food, compare to what you can usually find in Warsaw. Prices are high even for such kind of places - would give $$$$/5. Since place is opening around noon, at 2pm they already did not have available tables for the evening (we came on Friday), however, once we came around 3pm, the whole restaurant was empty and we were seated inside; all was good, until new guests came into restaurant, and they were seated next to us - only a glass window was separating our tables, so we sit exactly one to another and I could literally see in small details what the lady was eating. Service: we waited for 10minutes after menu was presented, despite waiter was showing us the table; after we made an order, we to bring us bottle beer and pour glass of wine, we had to wait another 20 minutes. The main dish was presented beautifully though, that’s where they get my 3star credit. Chef of this restaurant knows how to cook and present the food. Long story short: if you are ok to wait 45min for a dish, and you are not disrupted by low service - worth to taste food here, but only once.
P.S.: if you order oysters, you won’t get oyster knife, and instead you will have desert fork (pic is attached).
P.S.2: they avoid taxes by splitting the main dish in 2 items...
Read moreThe Port Royal restaurant is set in the centre of Warsaw, Poland 🇵🇱 I was recommended to come here for their Fish and chips, so was looking forward to trying this dish. When arriving on Friday evening, I was disappointed to see on the menu, that they stop serving this dish at 5 pm🤷🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
Well, I chose a Tuna steak in the end. Though the waiter did not ask how I would like it cooked?? It did come out very soft in the middle! Though it was not cold in the middle, it was kind of ok😬 just used to it being more firmer. My partner chose a Cheese Salad, as she was at the same restaurant earlier that same day. There is an extensive menu of fish and Oysters to choose from, if you are a Fish foodie👌 We had some Earl Grey teas for our drinks, but there was plenty of other wines and Beers to choose from on the menu.
We enjoyed both of our meals. The prices are quite expensive here in our opinions, as we are frequently eating out in various restaurants.
The setting of the restaurant was very tasteful, quite elegant., and we had a table by the window.
It was an ok experience eating here, probably geared for business people from the City. I would come back again, but earlier in the day, to try what I...
Read moreLeaving a negative review about this establishment. My experience here was simply awful for many reasons.
Firstly, the attitude towards customers from other countries was terrible. The staff clearly showed no interest in serving us and openly refused to take our order. It was extremely humiliating and disappointing.
Secondly, cleanliness in this place leaves much to be desired. The tables were sticky, which immediately creates a negative impression. Moreover, the appearance of the staff was shocking: greasy hair and terrible tattoos. All of this does not contribute to an appetite or desire to stay in such a place.
Thirdly, we were struck by the rudeness and inadequacy of the staff. Instead of helping and explaining anything, they showed disrespect and rudeness.
Finally, the portion we were served came in a plastic container, which is completely unacceptable for a restaurant claiming a certain level of quality.
The only thing that deserves any positive rating is the oysters, but even they didn’t save the overall situation - 3 out of 10.
Overall, the service here is a one out of ten. I do not recommend this place to anyone if you want to keep your nerves...
