Rani - Indyjska Restauracja — Restaurant in Warsaw

As a longtime Rani fan and client, I can say it used to serve 6/5 star quality food several years ago and was, in my opinion, the best Indian restaurant in Warsaw. Sadly, I think that Rani must have changed their cook/chef because it's another time I am disappointed with taste of ordered food. Everything got less spicy and much more salty and very sweet... dishes now also have less vegetables pieces (e.g. sizzler lamb & sizzler chicken). Having ordered several dozens of times from Rani in last couple of years I am only able to rate it 3,5/5 at best now. That's a shame but I miss old Rani quality...

1. Paneer tikka masala - used to be one of my favourites. Now the taste is very different and sauce is very sweet (as if I was eating a dessert). I don't think I will give it another chance...
2. lamb & chicken sizzler - meat bits were OK but overall the dishes were too salty. They also used to have much more paprika and onion pieces.
3. sizzler with paneer and vegetables - way too sweet and salty (too much carrot and green peas?). Unfortunately you cannot be sure what you will get when you order this menu position. Every time I ordered sizzler paneer/vegetables it was a lottery - different vegetables mix and taste. Sometimes it was OK sometimes not so much. Food portions...

🥘🍛Best Indian in Warsaw by far. I’ve been many many times to this restaurant with my Indian friends, highly recommend. Each dish is very unique, unlike other Indian restaurants which use the same 3 bases for every dish. Dish sizes are huge. Sometimes I even order just a starter as my main dish. Always fresh ingredients and also very affordable. 🍛🥘

Top dishes: •Tikka Masala (prawn, chicken, lamb, paneer cheese: All meats are great) (& I like to ask for an extra drizzle of śmietana) (This is more flavourful than a butter chicken, trust me). •Fresh Fish Palak (Spinach) (ask for extra spice if you can take it, well worth the extra flavour). •Chicken Lollipop (starter: you get 6 pieces!!!). •Dum Biryani (lamb/chicken) •All the Rani Specials are very unique and tasty. -Order with lots of plain naan 🫓 (4 pieces per basket: again great deal)

If you’re not sure where to begin: Share a starter between 2/3 people; get a main dish each; share plain naan between 2 people; and have a mango/salty lassy...

Byłam w tej restauracji i niestety spotkała mnie bardzo nieprzyjemna sytuacja. Zamówiłam danie Garlic Chicken Masala, które w karcie było oznaczone jako łagodne. Dostałam jednak danie tak ostre, że nie dało się go zjeść — piekło w gardło już po kilku kęsach. Poprosiłam o wymianę, obsługa przygotowała je ponownie, ale… znów było równie pikantne. Zjadłam może 1/3, tylko dlatego, że byłam bardzo głodna.

Mam przeciwwskazania zdrowotne do jedzenia ostrych potraw, dlatego celowo wybrałam pozycję opisaną jako łagodna. Zwróciłam uwagę obsłudze, że danie nie zgadza się z opisem i że powinnam otrzymać zniżkę – w odpowiedzi zostałam… zwyczajnie ofuknięta. Pan z obsługi tłumaczył się na różne sposoby – raz, że wszystkie dania indyjskie są „trochę pikantne”, potem że karta jest błędna, potem że „powinno być oznaczone”, a potem już sam nie wiedział, jak się z tego wybrnąć. Chaos totalny.

Zniżki nie dostałam, zrozumienia – też nie. Dania nie mogłam zjeść, a nikt nie poczuwał się do odpowiedzialności. Naprawdę skandaliczne...
