Went there with a friend yesterday. We ordered a couple of pizzas. The selection of wines was unimpressive. The pizzas were overpriced considering what was on offer (scant on ingredients and the mushrooms seemed undercooked) and comparing to the prices in the top Warsaw locations. For example, a de luxe pizza in an Italian restaurant in the Warsaw Castle Square will cost you less and have more ingredients. But let's be frank, this is not something that would make me come up here and even bother posting a review. A real deal-breaker was a discriminatory service. When we arrived (about 4-5pm on a sunny Saturday evening), we took a table next to the imposing windows. The curtains were drawn and taking the place we asked for the curtains to be pulled for us enough to enjoy the sunny evening outside. Hardly a demand from a place advertising itself with the pictures of those beautiful windows letting in plenty of sunshine. Well, our request was granted at first but after we made an order the waitress came around again to draw the curtains by our table because someone from a party sitting by the long table inside and away from the windows was supposedly blinded by the sun. To be clear, it was early evening hours with a bit of sun and a partially overcast sky. No direct sunlight was coming through those windows. As much as I associate Italy with sunshine, I was made to associate this restaurant with the opposite of it. This discriminatory treatment left quite a distaste in my mouth. Sorry, just one star from me. And not a Michelin...
Read moreThe food was OK, nothing to write home about, but not too bad either. For the asking price, could've been better though. HOWEVER, the service was abominable. Clearly inexperienced waiting staff who doesn't care and doesn't act according to the commonly expected rules. Our waitress didn't pick up 2 of our plates after the entrees. They were left sitting on the table for 10+ minutes whereas we were clearly done with this dish (nothing more on the table or the plates). Wouldn't bring the water we ordered (on a hot sunny day) until she felt like it (which was also 10+ minutes). To top it all up, when we asked for the menus at the end to order deserts, she acknowledged and never brought them anyway. We waited for 15 minutes, at which point I decided enough was enough and wanted to pay and leave. She made us wait additionally "because she was busy with someone else" - at that point, there were not so many guests. Less than 1/3 of the capacity. Oh and BTW, they didn't have ANY fish on a Sunday, which the waitress also didn't care to mention when she was presenting the menu and her recommendations. Management, take heed! Potential guests, go somewhere else, unless you're fine with the completely inadequate and...
Read moreGreat service and spacious interior, but that’s all the place has going for it.
We ate there twice, but each time we commented how the price didn’t match what we actually got. For example, a plate of tagliatelle with beef, wild mushrooms and mint was ok, but the beef was hard and stringy, plate cost almost 40 PLN and didn’t fill you up. Noodles were clearly store-bought, so there’s no reason why they shouldn’t give more of it. Wild mushrooms were a nice touch, but they could have just as easily used regular ones. Not worth the price.
The gnocchi with goat cheese was really good, thanks to the cheese, but there was maybe 10 or 12 of them on the plate, had maybe a dozen sunflower seeds for added taste, also cost almost 40 zl but didn’t offer anything exceptional. For that price it should knock your socks off. We paid for the expensive ingredients but nothing special was done with it and we didn’t get filled.
The restaurant acts like a fancy place, but the food doesn’t convey it. You can get as good in Noodle w Pudle with a few ingredients replaced with...
